5 years ago yesterday, I released the $777 Bitcoin Angel open edition. 4,158 editions were collected in just 7 minutes, generating $3.2M in sales.
What began in the frenzy of 2021 has outlived most open editions from that era. Through bull and bear markets, it kept trading, kept finding new collectors, and grew beyond a digital artwork into Castle Parties, bronze sculptures, Bitcoin Ordinals, a video game, and a lasting thread in my practice.
8 years as a crypto artist, 5 years since the angel open edition and I'm still building.

To the Nifty Gateway community,
Thank you for your feedback on the recently announced closure of the platform. It is our goal to conduct the process of closing Nifty Gateway in a smooth and orderly way and that all of our customers are able to move their NFTs to their wallet of choice and have access to them in perpetuity.
Below is an update on the closure process:

Our plan is to migrate the metadata and media hosting on Nifty Gateway to a permanent, decentralized solution on Arweave. There is a subset of NFTs created in 2021 or before with metadata that is permanently linked to Nifty Gatewayβs servers. For these NFTs, we will continue to host this metadata in perpetuity.

We are extending the deadline for moving assets to a 90 day window, with a deadline of April 23, 2026. After this date, if customers have not moved their assets off the platform we will continue to work with customers to make sure that they are able to move their NFTs to their wallet of choice.

We are working on a bulk withdrawal tool for our customers who have multiple NFTs on our platform and will be rolling it out shortly with plenty of time to use the tool before the April 23 deadline.
We continue to be grateful to the Nifty community for joining us on this journey. π©΅

Nifty Gateway was launched in 2020 with the vision of revolutionizing digital art. Since launching, Nifty supported dozens of innovative drops and brought new creative experiences to life. We are incredibly proud of the work the Nifty team has pioneered and grateful to Nifty Gatewayβs customers and artists for joining us on this journey.
Customers with a current balance of USD or ETH, or who hold an NFT, will be notified by email with instructions for moving their assets off of the Nifty platform. Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions.

Gm! ππ After 2+ years working on the massive oil painting The Titanium Angel (180 x 320 cm) and over a year on this 3.5 minute award winning animation, Iβm proud to share my tour de force. In a world of quick scrolls, hereβs something to pause for. Please take a few minutes to watch and read the short summary below. Likes, shares and comments welcome. π
This has been a labour of love that consumed me for years. The painting and animation pushed me further than I imagined. I may never sell it or turn it into an NFT drop, but what matters most is this: itβs finished, and Iβm incredibly proud.
Itβs more than a painting and animation. Itβs an entire world called The Engine; a 4,200 word story, academic essay, 9 animations, and multiple short stories. And now, with my next project #EXPOS3D, which has consumed me since January, Iβve found an exciting way to tie The Engine series into my art practice and vision going forward, alongside the other enormous project that defined 2022β2025, The CryptoAngels.
What comes next will be even bigger.

The Titanium Angel is a tale from the Clockwork Court, a vast machine-realm built on the ruins of a dying planet. The Court appears eternal with its chambers of gears, pistons, and furnaces, yet its grandeur conceals a poisoned legacy. Long before its construction two great powers ruled the Earth. One, symbolised by the Bull, was driven by strength, expansion, and light. The other, symbolised by the Bear, embodied endurance, shadow, and entropy. Known in the Courtβs chronicles as Talos and Artos, these forces were forged into nuclear reactors meant to defend their nations. Instead their unleashed power consumed the world and left it collapsing.
From this devastation arose the Engineer and the Programmer. Once human, they remade themselves to endure. The Engineer sacrificed nearly all humanity, becoming a being of metal and circuits devoted to form and control. The Programmer retained more of her human essence, her mind still shaped by language, pattern, and imagination. Together they harnessed the forces of Talos and Artos, binding them within the Courtβs core to power its eternal rhythms.
Most inhabitants live by ritual, unaware of decline, yet some feel urgency. This drives the construction of the Titanium Angel, a colossal rocket built not for conquest but for survival. It is designed to pierce the heavens and seek new worlds before the current one fails.
The Angel is revered as both triumph of engineering and covenant of preservation. Its design includes seeds, records, and fragments of knowledge to be carried into the unknown. Echoing Noahβs Ark, it is both machine and myth, faith and technology bound in steel. For Sialia, the Page, the Angel is awe-inspiring and unsettling, a masterpiece that embodies renewal, warning, and humanityβs restless drive to explore even when it risks destruction.
