ADANI GROUP’S 3 MAJOR BENGAL PROJECTS SET FOR SEPTEMBER 24 KICK-OFF
3 projects are lined up for a September 24 kick-off, with Gautam Adani’s presence expected but not yet confirmed.
2,000-BED HOSPITAL IN NEW TOWN
→ 1,000 beds reserved for economically weaker patients.
→ 1,000 beds for commercial use.
KUMARTULI GHAT REDEVELOPMENT
→ Estimated cost: ₹10 crore.
→ Covers a 300-metre stretch between Kumartuli Ghat and Champatala Ghat.
→ Restoration of heritage structures, temples and shrines.
→ Improved riverbank protection, pedestrian walkways and river access.
→ Cultural spaces, food kiosks, public toilets and boating facilities planned.
→ Plantation, illumination and surveillance also included.
WRITERS’ BUILDINGS RESTORATION
→ Estimated cost: ₹100 crore.
→ Adani Group’s team has already inspected the building.
→ Research has begun on restoring its original British-era structure.
→ Work is expected to begin after approval.
DADANPATrABAR DEEP-SEA PORT
→ Adani Group has shown interest in participating in the tendering process.
→ Proposed at Dadanpatrabar, East Midnapore.

On 11.05.2026, The Government of West Bengal republishes the GOI Notification dated 16.06.2025 for Intent to conduct Census 2027. It is the first step towards conduct of Census 2027 in the state of West Bengal.

जनगणना 2027 के प्रति जागरूकता फैलाने के उद्देश्य से दिल्ली में LED वैन अभियान का शुभारंभ आज जनगणना भवन से भारत के महापंजीयक एवं जनगणना आयुक्त द्वारा हरी झंडी दिखाकर किया गया।
“चलते-फिरते जनगणना सूचना केंद्र” के रूप में तैयार की गई ये वैन लोगों को जनगणना 2027 में भागीदारी के लिए प्रेरित करेंगी।
अपने आसपास इस वैन को ज़रूर देखें।।

The LED Van Campaign across Delhi to spread awareness about Census 2027 was flagged off today from Janganana Bhawan by the Registrar General & Census Commissioner of India.
The vans designed as "Census information hubs on wheels" aim to motivate the public to participate in Census 2027.

Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan filled out the self-enumeration form online for Census 2027, at Uprashtrapati Bhavan today.
Census 2027, undertaken in alignment with the Government’s Digital India initiative, leverages extensive digital technologies to enhance the quality, efficiency, and timeliness of data collection and dissemination.
The Vice President encouraged all residents to participate in the self-enumeration process and submit their household details online during the period notified by their respective State/UT through the official web portal: se.census.gov.in
The Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, Shri Mritunjay Kumar Narayan, was present during the enumeration procedure.

President Droupadi Murmu participated in the self-enumeration initiative of the Government of India for Census 2027 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This Census is being conducted in digital mode for the first time.
The President self-enumerated her household details in the portal (se.census.gov.in) in the presence of Home Secretary Shri Govind Mohan, Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India Shri Mritunjay Kumar Narayan and other senior officials.
