In the weeks leading up to the @FIFAWWC I had the pleasure of speaking with @LaniJohnson2000 from @ChangeOurGame about my PhD on the impact of its legacy on the lived experiences of women, girls and gender diverse people in football in Vic. For arguably the first time ever, the value of sport is not being determined by the sex of the athletes playing it, but by the quality and engagement of the football being played 🙌 – at Melbourne, Victoria
The Matildas have left a legacy – but where to from here? We need to keep watching, talking about and supporting women’s football. Invite family and friends into the community because football is for everyone, we saw firsthand how it can unite a nation.

“Last night’s game wasn’t just about the score line for Morocco – and the #FIFAWWC represents more than just winning a tournament. It’s about unity, rising above our differences and barracking for your country.”

Too late to call a national holiday after the @Socceroos huge win against Denmark last night. But if we win the #FIFAWorldCup... that might be a different story.
Had an awesome day at the inaugural LGBTIQ+ Youth Sport and Recreation Summit for #WearItPurple Day exploring and discussing the experiences and needs of LGBTIQ+ young people from across the sport and active recreation sector.

this past week feels like a tipping-point. the #ALeagueWomen can't continue down the semi-pro/part-time road. not only are players not able to deliver their best due to juggling other work, but some are now leaving altogether. invest now to reap rewards in future! @drt15
It’s with regret that we announce goalkeeper Georgia Boric has made the decision to leave the Newcastle Jets due to work commitments 😞
The Club understands her difficult situation and thanks her for her contribution since arriving this season! 🙌
