Parasite SEO is “alive and well.” And the new European regulation just opened up a sea of opportunities. New episode with @LarsLofgren is out: link in comments #parasiteseo

Top-tier technical SEOs are going to make bank over the next 5 years after all these vibe-coded CMSs hit a wall. Platform constraints can be a good thing.

So I just need to rant about how Sam Altman waterboards his kids with AI podcasts and I'll go viral?

What people THINK GEO is: LLMs.txt! SCHEMA! pSEO! AI content machine with enough n8n nodes to make C-3PO blush What GEO actually is: Begging teams to call their new thing the same thing that the rest of the world already calls that thing.

Good list
THE BEST SEO BLOGS & NEWS - JULY 2026 🔖 AI slop is everywhere, half the best writers sold up or vanished, and yet there are STILL SEOs publishing genuinely useful stuff everyday... My current reading list: - Ahrefs Blogs - Search Engine Roundtable (Barry Schwartz) - Search Engine Journal (Roger Montti) - Growth Memo - Detailed[.com] - SEO Notebook - PressWhizz Blog - Diggity Marketing News Roundup - Peec AI Blog - WordLift Blog - On-Page AI Research - Lars Lofgren - Metehan AI (Metehan Yesilyurt) - Sterling Sky Local SEO Blog Are there any you read that I missed?

Expectations of joining a major consumer tech company to lead their SEO: "I am going to build a content empire for this brand. Our competitors will cower before us." Reality: "uh, hey, everyone, could we maybe, pretty please, not noindex the entire support site?"

In 20 years, I never saw a legit copywriter use an "eyebrow." Now AI loves that shit, it's everywhere. And I have to tell every designer/dev that they rarely help, especially when they're generic throwaway copy. And they reek of AI.

So heartbreaking to see one of the all-time great blogs in the website category taken out back and old yellered by Google. Who is it? WP Beginner.

Seems like 95% of Google's search quality roadmap is based on PR outrage

it is fucking ludicrous how easy it is to rank for high value keywords on a 40 DR domain right now. The honeymoon period with Google is unreal. Way easier than domains at 85+ with legit brands Creates a ton of weird incentives and borked feedback loops.

Would not have expected AI to replace internal decks with HTML files. But here we are. Fucking wild.

Being detailed-oriented is maddening these days. "How did they fuck up this spreadsheet so badly? Oh right, AI made it. And no one checked it."

If you're not sure where the over-the-top hate towards em dashes and other AI-isms comes from, spend 2 weeks approving copy from any B2B marketing or sales team. Slinging AI slop like 2am pancakes at a Denny's on friday night.

So glad I started operating under the assumption that search traffic would go to zero. Recap of Google I/O from techcrunch:

Me: I really should use AI in more of my research. 5 mins later: Claude, did you just hallucinate an entire fucking subreddit?

One of the great disparities of today's media landscape: algos love LLM content but people... do not.
