I think that the ACA and gay marriage were the farthest "Left" the Democrats were willing to go. They've always been a progressive wing of the Republican Party. They haven't been able to establish ANY platform to rally support outside of fearmongering about Trump since Obama.

Trolling is an art. It's about getting a rise out of specific people. Whether it's a toilet or giant Jenga logs, its success is determined by who it pisses off and why. Often times the target is the art community itself and that's the best kind. Reactionaries are a close second.
