Every now and then, someone comes along complaining that artists charge too much. But take a blank sheet of paper and really think about it. Every artist starts with this blank canvas full of infinite possibilities. And those possibilities include making something ugly, too.(1/3)

Artists use their personal experience, artistic sense, and a vast amount of knowledge to turn that blank canvas into something beautiful. That's practically a miracle.(2/3)

You can't price a piece of art based on labor hours alone. It's like how a doctor might only spend a few minutes examining a patient, but we're paying for their professional expertise, right?(3/3)

I really want to commission other artists, but I can’t afford anything too elaborate... Sometimes I want to ask for an art trade, but trading my sketches for someone else’s finished work feels so shameless.
