I had a very humbling reflection at the end of our @LaunchGood onsite in Bursa. We actually had been in Bursa 7 years prior, in 2019. Back then (photo on left) the whole team could fit at a single dinner table - now we take over the whole restaurant (photo on right) And the team has changed dramatically. Only 3 of the people in the first photo are still at LaunchGood, yet the mission remains the same, and the impact has grown 100x LaunchGood has truly become an organization bigger than any one person, even the founders. This is the dream of every founder: what they’ve created can outlive them I pray it only grows stronger from here, and I’m blessed to continue to lead this team into that future 🤲

For our monthly @LaunchGood all hearts, we've been blessed to have incredible guest speakers in the past, such as Mufti Menk, Imam Omar Suleiman, etc. Today though we had our very own teammate Samia featured as the guest speaker, and it was the most incredible - she just returned from Jordan with @HCICanada where she was serving refugees. The stories she shared were so humbling - these refugees that had almost nothing, yet would constantly cite the verses of Qur'an "if you were to count the blessings of Allah, you could never innumerate them" and when they'd take food to one tent, they'd direct them to another even more needy family rather than take for themselves. We in the West have a lot to learn from these humble refugees in the East

Alhamdulillah had an amazing trip to Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in one week This ummah is incredible, inspiring, brilliant in its diversity I was blessed to sit with saintly men and women and soak in their wisdom; connect with the most sincere and influential figures like Mufti Menk at GMC Summit by @OnePathNetwork; share and learn from global Muslim leaders at the Prophetic Strategy Summit; share a stage with my brothers @omarehamid & @UmarMunshi at Mukha Cafe; visit Yusuf Islam’s new “Mountain of Light” studio; deepen my relationship with my amazing @LaunchGood teammates here; discover leading social entrepreneurship models to care for special needs and vulnerable individuals in Singapore; and even got in a run of hoops! 🏀 Terima kasih everyone! 🙏 Much to be optimistic about 🤲

An incredible @GivingTuesday on @LaunchGood, our Muslim charities broke all the records we just set last year by raising nearly $2 million in 24 hours! Last year we had about $1.3m, so we set a target of $1.5m - but blew past that (mashallah). Some highlights: 1. 317 fundraisers across world 2. 21,469 unique donors 3. $1.91 million donated 4. @CelebrateMercy raised the most ($248k), @HumanConcern had the most donors (2,049) 5. Surprise of the day: a mosque in Sutton, UK raised $238k! Personally, what was most touching for me was seeing the team do it all on their own. I'm on paternity leave this week and watched from the sidelines as they executed our best #GivingTuesday ever! ps - we're hiring!
