I love this.
how can you not believe in God when octopuses DREAM and otters have a favorite rock they carry around in a little SKIN POCKET and cows have BEST FRIENDS and bees are out there communicating the coordinates of flowers through INTERPRETIVE DANCE and they have REGIONAL DIALECTS??
cats are PURRING at frequencies associated with bone healing??? forests get absolutely incinerated and respond by growing FLOWERS??? dolphins literally invent NAMES for themselves and yell them across the ocean??? penguins are waddling around Antarctica looking for the PERFECT LITTLE ROCK to give their beloved???
CROWS REMEMBER YOUR FACE. THEY TELL OTHER CROWS ABOUT YOU. THEY TELL THEIR CHILDREN ABOUT YOU. YOU CAN HAVE GENERATIONAL BEEF WITH A BIRD.
goats have ACCENTS. rats GIGGLE when you tickle them. elephants mourn their dead. whales make SONGS and then OTHER WHALES LEARN THE SONG and suddenly everybody across the ocean is singing the new hit single.
monarch butterflies are born knowing how to fly thousands of miles to a place THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN. sea turtles hatch out of an egg, immediately sprint toward an OCEAN they have never seen, disappear into it for like THIRTY YEARS and then somehow come back to THE SAME BEACH???
birds can see COLORS THAT WE CANNOT SEE. there are colors happening RIGHT NOW that we don’t even get to know about.
there are sea slugs that eat algae and STEAL ITS CHLOROPLASTS and then are just like great thanks I’ll be PHOTOSYNTHESIZING NOW. there are mushrooms communicating underground. there are seeds sitting in the dirt for DECADES like no actually I will wait.
squirrels plant MILLIONS OF TREES because they simply cannot remember where they put their snacks.
A CATERPILLAR GOES INTO A LITTLE BAG, DISSOLVES MOST OF ITS BODY INTO ORGANIC SOUP, REARRANGES ITSELF, GROWS WINGS AND LEAVES.
and you’re telling me a tiny acorn knows how to become a 70-foot oak tree??? nobody tells it what to do??? it just has TREE INSTRUCTIONS INSIDE IT???
your body started as ONE CELL. ONE. and that cell divided itself into a brain that can think about its own existence and eyes that can look at stars and hands that can hold somebody else’s hands and a heart that runs on ELECTRICITY without you even asking it to???
the iron in your BLOOD was made inside a STAR.
I’M SORRY?????
we are walking around on a wet rock covered in bioluminescent oceans and singing whales and laughing rats and birds holding lifelong grudges and flowers exploding out of FIRE and somehow we’re supposed to act like this is a normal place to live?????????
This is a great site!

Why is it ‘cancelled’ in the U.K. but ‘canceled’ in the U.S.?
Because we gave them that L in 1776.

Nobody could figure out why the abandoned Hendricks apple orchard suddenly bloomed in April 2019. The trees hadn't produced fruit in eleven years. County agriculture office sent two inspectors. They found sixty thousand honeybees working the property - a massive colony that had escaped from Tomás Vega's apiary three miles south. Tomás had reported the swarm missing in March. He expected them dead. Instead they'd colonized the hollow barn on the Hendricks lot and cross-pollinated every surviving tree. That October, the orchard produced twenty-two tons of Cortland apples. The Hendricks family offered Tomás a permanent lease. He moved his entire operation there the following spring.

life is f**king incredible. cows turn grass into ribeyes, trees turn sunlight into oxygen, fruits and coconuts, water falls from the sky and dogs exist. we get to do literally anything we want with our life, fall in love with someone who was a stranger and somehow sex with them makes new life forms. God is real, magic exists, manifestation works, and love always finds a way. dont fall for the doomer shit. we live in a magical dreamscape, dont waste it.

The Bee Tetradrachm of Ephesos wasn’t just a coin, it was the city’s highest value silver coin, a story in one piece 🐝🥈💰
Minted c. 390–300 BC (about 16 grams of silver), it shows a bee on one side and a stag with palm tree on the other. The bee? Ephesus was famous for honey, staple, trade good, sacred offering. Priestesses were even called melissai or “honey bees.” Civic pride, religion, and economy in one coin.
The Value? 1 tetradrachm = 4 days’ wages for a skilled worker. That same coin bought 4-9lbs of honey. Which means roughly 1–2 lbs of honey per day. Enough to feed a family, trade, or offer to the gods.
Ephesus didn’t just put a bee on its coin, it monetized its signature product. Labor, wealth, devotion, and honey, all in one. 🍯🐝

During the Hard Times of the 1830s–1840s, official money became scarce and unreliable. Bank failures and collapsing paper notes made everyday trade difficult. In response, communities and private minters issued what we now call Hard Times Tokens.
These were physical copper tokens, usually close in size and weight to U.S. large cents, about 8–11 grams of near pure copper. They weren’t legal tender, but they carried real value because they had weight, metal, and cost to produce. Most circulated at 1 cent each.
The beehive symbol appeared on some of these tokens intentionally. It represented labor, cooperation, thrift, and stored surplus, a reminder that value comes from work, not promises.
In practical terms, a single token could buy a loaf of bread or a mug of beer.
A pound of honey, a staple food and primary sweetener at the time, typically sold for 12–30 cents depending on season and location. That meant it took roughly 12–30 Hard Times tokens, each backed by real copper to purchase 1 lb of honey.
With daily wages around 50¢–$1.00, a pound of honey represented about ¼ of a day’s wages yet again.
When paper failed, people returned to what worked: honest metal, honest food, and honest symbols.
A hive can only make so much honey and sound money once followed the same rule. 🐝🍯
