Central to our Theory of Change; Being, Becoming, Belonging @ChangingLives__ is trusting relationships, being consistent in what we do and providing lots of opportunities to create positive lasting memories. This is Trauma Informed Care.

Remember sitting in first big set piece parliament debate & noting that there was no mention of women's safety. Remember thinking I'd never let that happen again, but only today was it anything more than lip service, real commitment, front & centre @Keir_Starmer really cares.
Thank you to the Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer for recognising the hard work of myself & other campaigners pushing for change. Great to see our calls taken forward on compelling offenders to attend sentencing, safeguarding children of sex offenders and fast-tracking rape cases.

Women and girls deserve to have the seriousness of their needs backed by serious political resource. That's why we're proud to be a signatory of @Agenda_alliance's campaign for a standalone Secretary of State for Women and Girls. #CallingSOS
Alongside more than 50 specialist organisations, we've written to party leaders demanding a standalone Secretary of State for Women and Girls in the next Cabinet. Women and girls across Britain are facing a crisis of unmet need and together, we're #CallingSOS. Read our letter:

Yesterday, members of the #TransformingTogether network presented at the North East Drug and Alcohol Conference, focusing on the importance of women-only addiction and recovery services. It was great to be there, and platform the voices of women with lived experience.

Well done Andy, you’re all amazing, what a team! X
Massive thanks to @ActionChallenge team, and special mention to #TrekMasterSteve who was totally brilliant - we didn’t get to the end, stopped at 5am / 60km in, we all loved the #JurassicCoastChallenge and thank you for all the donations to @SandsUK to help them support others.

Visited our @ChangingLives__ Women’s Services in #Stafford today. What an incredible community building, with affordable rent. Seeing more of these types of spaces recently, supporting the 3rd sector to deliver excellent, trauma informed care. And I loved Lynns office 😊

CEO Stephen Bell says decision would be "inhumane" and mean "more people rough sleeping, more deaths on the street".

Very strong words from @ChangingLives__ here about plans to slash the number of homelessness beds in Newcastle. CEO Stephen Bell says decision would be "inhumane" and mean "more people rough sleeping, more deaths on the street". chroniclelive.co.uk/news/nor…

On Day 15 of the 16 Days of Action, we are thinking about the power of co-creation and the role of creativity as a force for driving political, social and personal change. We're revisiting an episode of our Recovery Talks podcast when our host, Sommer spoke to Catrina McHugh MBE about her work through @OpenClasp and the importance of archives to honour the legacy and history of women's stories. Open Clasp have recently debuted Mycelial, a play co-produced with sex worker activists, including women supported by Changing Lives 💜 Listen to the podcast ➡️ bit.ly/3RqQabh #ChangeTheStory

On day 10 of the 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence, our North East Exploitation, Survival Sex and Sex Work Services came together to host a day for the people supported across our various projects 💜 Our Service Manager Danielle Amann said, "We wanted to prove that the women we support aren’t ‘hard to reach’ and I definitely think we achieved this. Our #ConnectMore event included various art and craft activities including Gonk making, Christmas bauble painting, candle decorating and lots more. Of course we also had a lovely spread and everyone enjoyed tucking into pizza! 20 women and men attended today’s event and all had a brilliant time." #ChangeTheStory through connection 🤝

Powerful words from our women’s CJS managers 👇🏻 sharing a case they have supported. For women, their involvement in the CJS often has a story unknown to many, where they become the offender (the problem) after experiencing violence and abuse. #ChangeTheStory #16Days
On Day 9 of the 16 Days of Action, our Women's Criminal Justice Service Managers share some of the stories of the women they've supported, to shed light on the reality of how women come to be involved in the Criminal Justice System. Hear their stories ➡️ bit.ly/47IlmIT
