Domestic Abuse Hotline: 1.800.799.SAFE (7233) 🦋💜🦋💜🦋💜🦋 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Won't you please rock some purple? A purple accent nail? Even for you metal & rock guys! You could totally pull it off!!🤘🏻Purple clothing? Repost?💜💜💜 I know, trust me. It's a bummer of a subject & I can feel it in the X sphere. My pinned tweet has been up for over 9 years and has only 499 likes. So I know it's a tough subject, probably because it is, or it has affected all of us, or has touched us by ppl we know, and love. But if we stay silent, violence thrives. So thank you all who have liked, reposted, and are rocking purple this month.💜💜💜Much love to all of you, from the bottom of my heart.❤️ ~E🦋 Every minute: An average of 20 to 24 people are physically abused by an intimate partner in the U.S., totaling over 10 million victims yearly. *And roughly 600 people per minute worldwide.. Women: About 1 in 3 experience physical violence, and nearly 1 in 5 experience contact sexual violence or severe physical violence by a partner. Men: About 1 in 4 experience some form of physical violence, and roughly 1 in 7 to 1 in 9 experience severe physical violence by a partner. Risk multipliers: The presence of a firearm in a domestic violence situation increases the risk of homicide by 500%. If you or someone you know is being abused. Reach out for help. You are not alone.💜🕊🦋🙏🏼 Domestic Abuse Hotline: 1.800.799.SAFE (7233)
