My parents migrated to the UK in the 80s and worked themselves to the bone and built a house in Sudan so that they can move back.
Their 30+ year dream was snatched away in one day.
May Allah protect the people of Sudan.
Spoke 2 my dad this morning, who finally made it out of #Sudan. He was so broken. He migrated 30+ yrs ago n came back in recent yrs hoping to have a glimpse of the homeland that crystallized in his mind. He now realizes that Sudan is gone forever. Very painful loss #SudanCrisis

Sitting in a warm bed under a closed roof watching videos of rescue teams pulling children & families from rubble & trying to make sense of it all. It isn’t fair. It still doesn’t seem real.. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through.

I have this Instagram rule where every new year for the last couple years, I go through all the people I'm following and unfollow anyone I haven't interacted with in over a year. Even a silly interaction like commenting on a story. It makes such a difference honestly
