QUOTE: #Gophers HC Ben Johnson has been impressed by Division II, UMD walk-on transfer big man Lincoln Meister at practice this fall. "We have a kid Lincoln [Meister] that's played well and pushed guys. It's funny he transferred here from Division II (UMD) and I am sitting here the first week thinking 'Man, how did this guy not play?' he's had a disadvantage, Division II because everybody is small. He's got no matchup, so there's a reason he only played 19 minutes per game because most teams don't have a guy that he could guard defensively because everybody is small. He comes here and now it's a much better fit, because he's a true five, so now you can play him, but he's been a delight in practice. He's made guys better because he's long, he's crafty, he's a better athlete than you think, he's pretty skilled. He's right up there in ball-screen coverages because he can move his feet. Stuff he's done athletically has been a surprise and he's added depth."
