The CFP rankings actually make perfect sense when you understand their reasoning and motivation. They had to rank 2 loss bama and Texas so high so that when they get a 3rd loss they will still be in. They are ranking teams to get the desired outcomes regardless future games.

The Malachi Toney injury adds another major storyline to a game already full of them. His status is up in the air, and deservedly getting plenty of attention.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame is likely going to be without five defensive starters on Saturday. Injuries are a major factor on both sides.
I think most CFB fans agree that the only problem was the BCS has 2 teams. I think more agree that the @CFBPlayoff committee is a total joke. Leave ND out of it. Bama/UT, IU/OSU/USC, Texas… moving goal posts at every corner. Do they even watch games???

If you get worked up over the 1st CFB Playoff Rankings, that’s a you issue.
Especially with the slate of huge games this weekend that will change everything drastically.

Strength of Schedule means everything except for when the Committee decides it doesn’t matter
Strength of Record means nothing unless the Committee feels it might be relevant

Yurachek on Bama being 8 spots above Tennessee basically says Bama has a better resume.
"To compare teams head to head, they have to be in the same pod." Bama and KY were in the same pod, Bama and Tenn. were not.
Note: The exact same thing he said about Miami-ND last year.

Don't do it.
Don't let them make you care about a ranking that will have no correlation to the only one that matters.

Talked about my 80% résumé (SOR, Résumé SP+), 20% quality (SP+, FPI) computer rankings mix in the Sunday column. The CFP committee is FAR more skewed toward the SEC than the computers. 2.6 spots per team, on average. Good lord.

Love watching the @CFBPlayoff committee barf all over themselves and then have to listen to @ESPNBooger just gargle shit in his mouth for another 45 minutes

And that will be my last comment about tonight’s rankings because in a month, the first CFP ranking will be the most useless list ever created.

Remember, folks:
Alabama vs. Kentucky head-to-head absolutely matters
Alabama vs. Tennessee head-to-head absolutely doesn't matter.
Appreciate your attention to this matter.

In just under 24 hours, the CFP Committee Chairman Hunter Yurachek will be explaining why 6-2 LSU is ranked ahead of 8-0 UCLA.

Spoke about this during the postgame show, and no it had nothing to do with how Notre Dame played today, but I was incredibly disappointed in how dirty Navy played today. Twisting legs and ankles, shoves in the back, late hits and some dirty play in piles .... they are supposed to be better than that.

Do people care how anyone feels about them in November? They were sitting pretty last November and it didn't help
Play better. Beat Miami. I think that's the only thing that matters for Notre Dame
