What an amazing sport where fucking nothing happens for hours upon hours and all spectators do is eat hot dogs to keep themselves occupied.
Show me a cricket game reaching these heights and I’ll deactivate rn

In this tri-series, the Pakistan team has put on a perfect tribute to the 90s team. The good, the bad and the ugly. All in a blink. Always watchable.

Sameer Minhas’s dad thinks his son should get a two year raggra in domestic cricket before making his debut. But the idiot fuckwads in the selection committee think he is ready for test cricket. Pakistan cricket getting ready to destroy one more young talent

Rehab process definitely is horrible. But it’s not just the physical rehab , it’s also the mental rehab which we never do .

If their workouts are laughable who is helping them at the gym? Who is assessing their physical fitness and suggesting the right exercises? We’re talking about kids in their early 20s here .

Players don’t evolve their games because they are not managed properly. And that includes their techniques, fitness, maturity, their mental strength and their overall career finances. None of them are equipped to handle all that. And the board fails them all misesbly

This is the essence of player management . Protecting them when they need protecting, giving them easier series when they need to get their confidence back. Making a batter into an all rounder is not a favor to a talent like him. It set his progress back and distracted him

“Giving him a long rope” was not the answer to his problems . He should have been dropped from t20s a long time ago when it was obvious that he was not the type of player who could start slogging from ball 1. In continuing to play him in t20s we’ve fucked his odi game too.

Look at what we did to him in England. When he had just gained form back in the CPL, we flew him to England for a test match in completely alien conditions where he got a pair. How would this not fuck with a kid’s confidence? He’s a human being FFS.

We can try to make this about Saim letting success get to his head or wanting to play leagues or trying to show much swag. A guy does not lose talent like this, it is his confidence & his form that needed to be managed. Ultimately Pakistan cricket has failed a young kid again.

Of all the players Pak cricket has destroyed in recent years, Saim is the biggest loss. We took a guy who batted like this in Aus and SA, forced him to try to bat at high pace in t20s when he was always a player who needed some time to get in. Then we made him a full time bowler
Maaz Sadaqat was brilliant on debut, no doubt 👏 But the @SaimAyub7 disrespect is wild. Averaging around 47 in ODIs with 3 centuries, including two in South Africa against Rabada and Marco Jansen. He has also delivered in Australia against Cummins, Starc, Zampa and Hazlewood.

ODI cricket is intellectually, morally, aesthetically, spiritually, emotionally, dramatically, artistically, physically, mentally, historically, consistently, decisively, dumbfoundingly, globally, unapologetically, unquestionably superior to every other game yet invented

There’s two ways to look at the resurgence of our senior players in this series. Either Hesson has created a team environment and a structure where these players have confidence & clarity. Or that the danda applied by the board is paying off. Or maybe it’s a bit of both.

People sometimes scoff at the power of art in bridging hostile countries. Just check this out…little than a year after these two countries were at war, Pakistani dramas and music seeps back into India’s popular culture. And that really is the power of art.

In Imran Khan’s bio he shared that in his 1st test as captain he was out hooking a ball. He quickly realized that he would need to lead by example with the bat.The rest is history. Shaheen has a lot of natural talent & leadership instincts.Just needs to step up in these moments
The kind of shot from Shaheen that says, “I already my job with the ball, not interested in working hard with the bat”. He’s going to have to realize fairly quickly , if he’s going to be a successful long term captain, he needs to be more mature than this.
