i think this is the biggest argument against any kind of "post-season" in NASCAR. we went from talking about Hamlin, Reddick, and Blaney every week to talking about Larson, Logano, and Briscoe. Easy to feel like those first 26 didn't matter if you're a fan of any of those three

The Chase was definitely a massive step in the right direction, but I’m sorry, it’s still not enough.
I’m not even a Hamlin fan, but the final ten races arbitrarily carrying more weight than the totality of the season will always feel forced and inauthentic.

Ride around at half throttle or locked in place forever, the moment they start doing something they wreck. Been this way for 10 years at this point and getting increasingly worse. This place and Daytona used to have dignity I swear.
