I think the thing that is most alarming to all of this is in all these talks in the last couple years, it always a conversation of "let me explain why things are bad so it makes sense" and no mention of what this means for the creators on the site. The reality is this means we will see a site that is already so behind in its ability to fairly pay its average creator the revenue they bring to the site, not be able to grow out of that. This means that with their mention of not wanting to grow out of live content, it will continue to be a "bring people to us, and we will split the profit" system. It's great that .5% of the site can make bank. But the average person can go to TikTok, IG, YT and Facebook, put a fraction of the work with a small following and make a huge earning in return. It's neat to have the Twitch community feeling. But the average user experience is ruined by ads and the only way to combat that as a creator is by spending more time or money into other sites to bring more people over. Twitch is great for the people who have broke through and made it and are comfortable with the cuts they get and for people that just don't care. It is horrible for anyone trying to use it as an actual tool to grow their brand in 2024, with 0 signs of getting better. If you are comfortable, stay! Keep killing it. If you are struggling or concerned, its time to expand out🫡
