The Speaker was warmly received by Sri Kidar Ramgobin, son of veteran anti-apartheid activist and former MP Dr. Ela Gandhi (great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi). Sri Ramgobin guided the delegation through the key heritage landmarks across the settlement.
The Speaker, accompanied by Sri Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara, Secretary-General to Legislature, toured the printing press premises where the iconic publication Indian Opinion was printed, serving as a powerful voice against racial discrimination and injustice in South Africa.
