Disturbing, and absolutely heartbreaking. Pray for this family, and pray the NYPD finds the murderer.
Katie Suarez, 28, who was declared brain dead after being stabbed in the neck on the Shore Parkway Greenway promenade in Brooklyn around 8 p.m. Friday, was taken off life support and died Monday.
The critically wounded young woman continued running 150 feet after being attacked before she collapsed under a tree, police said Monday.
Police have offered a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case, as investigators haven’t yet identified a suspect or motive.
Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-577-TIPS.

Tish with thoughts and prayers for a swift recovery for a victim who is brain dead thanks to policies she lobbied for.
This is outrageous and unacceptable. No New Yorker should have to fear such violence.
I’m praying for a swift recovery for Katie, and keeping her family in my thoughts.
I urge anyone with information to contact @NYPDTips.

Meanwhile NYC spends $80,000 per homeless person and we still have people on the streets and in unsafe shelters. But I am sure a lot of the politically favored NGOs are getting lots on money - while those in need are abandoned by our @GovKathyHochul

Now she wants you to re-elect her SO SHE CAN FIX THE VERY PROBLEMS SHE HELPED CREATE. How many more years are we supposed to give her? She’s had 24 years.

I really hope everyone can take a few minutes to read this astonishing reporting from @nypost @HannahFNYP on how an ordinary apartment building filled with hard-working New Yorkers has become unlivable because of twisted housing policies.
The City has been doing this quietly behind the scenes and finally, thankfully, it’s being made public.
We are supposed to be in the midst of a severe affordable housing crisis, but the City seems to be adopting policies that will ensure even less housing is available to the working people they claim to care about. They are removing apartments from the market and letting NGO’s rent them out at a big profit. Then what will happen?
This is what the future holds for buildings all across the five boroughs once the NGO’s get their greedy hands on empty units and fill them with people who will push out the long term tenants.
It may be hard to believe this is even actually happening, but it is. This building is right down the street from me and I know many of the residents who have been complaining about this ever since building resident Maria Hernandez was brutally murdered by a super the building hired who was right out of prison! ( He is in jail now serving a life sentence for the murder.)
What is being done to these tenants is wrong and unfair. This cannot become policy because every neighborhood in NYC will be destabilized.
I really hope NYC leaders will take this very seriously and put a stop to this. It’s unfair to the people being dumped into apartments because they need supportive housing with real help, not this!
If you live in a building where the city is taking housing for working people off the market so greedy NGO’s can make money, please get in touch with @OneCityRisingNY . You have options.
I hope more media covers this! The public needs to know.

How about an effective shelter and supportive housing system. NY spends over $80,000 per street homeless person - @GovKathyHochul where is our money going? Clearly not to those in need - maybe to your friends in various NGOs. We need change to fix this and end homelessness
WATCH: ABC’s George Stephanopoulos tries to get Walmart’s U.S. CEO to bash Trump and claim the economy’s in a tailspin. CEO John Furner was not having any of it.
First, Stephanopoulos tried to argue turkey prices are way up, but Furner replied Walmart’s turkeys will be their *lowest since 2019* and the price of their Thanksgiving basket for ten will be $14 *cheaper than last year*

This is truly an awful show, but at least you get to see how wild some people’s conspiracies are.
ABC's "bona fide news program" The View brings on Hillary Clinton and Kara Swisher to push a slew of conspiracy theories about how the midterms could be stolen.
They predict:
-ICE will confront people at the polls
-Use the Justice Department and U.S. Marshals Service in a nefarious way
-The election results will be hacked and changed (teed up by Sunny Hostin)
-Use peoples Social Security numbers to manipulate their thoughts
This is scary

These kind of responses are to be expected because 12th grade reading results in 2024 in America showed that reading levels right now the lowest they’ve ever been since the assessment began in 1992

It is time to put this disgusting wacko out to pasture.
wow @CNN horrible and sexist, both pile on her then say they won't pile on with faux concern. This is sexist - she made a difficult call one that will likely end her career - but since a woman the two say she is troubled imply all kinds of things. This was strength not weakness

Only in NYC can you be a felon, get captured, let go, captured again, and let go. This city is certainly the place to make a career out of crime. It’s clearly a welcoming environment for the felons to flourish.

Marty has run the New York City Marathon every year since 1980 and finished his 43rd tonight as the last man across the line. He said it would be his final one his mind is still willing, but his body isn’t.
A remarkable way to end the streak. Congratulations on 43 NYC Marathons, Marty. ❤️
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The runner’s name is James Thomas, not Marty. The person who filmed and spoke with him (@MickmickNYC) confirmed this. He is not the 90-year-old Marty Granoff (who ran his 6th NYC Marathon in 2026, last previously in 1983).
