If you have the means to do so, I am begging you to watch Godzilla Minus One in IMAX. I can’t begin to describe how exhilarating it is to hear that score and sound design vibrate in your body as you watch some of the best blockbuster filmmaking you’ll see all year. Breathtaking.
Just going to say this upfront: GODZILLA MINUS ZERO is not only the best Godzilla movie ever made, but it might also be the best blockbuster film so far this year.
Written and directed by effects wizard Takashi Yamazaki, the film is a direct sequel to Yamazaki’s Oscar-winning
there’s a mid-air battle between Ghidorah and several fighter jets that is absolutely thrilling in its execution.
This is a LOUD film, and I mean that in the best possible way. The operatic score blares dramatically over the deep bass rumblings of each step and explosion.
