Would any family barristers be willing to do mock pupillage interviews with me please? I’d be forever grateful 😊 – at Saint Helens, England
I was called to the Bar or England and Wales by the The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.
I am excited to embark on this new chapter in my legal journey. Next step: secure the impossible; pupillage 😢 #calltothebar #innrtemple

I have marked around 500 pupillage forms in the last few years. As Chambers are not recruiting in this cycle, I thought I would boldly share my top 10 pupillage form tips: I do not suggest I am an expert - but these are my thoughts - take them or leave them. Strap in....

I am not a criminal barrister (yet 🤞🏼) however, I could not agree more!

I once saw a Tweet that said being a lawyer is like being a surgeon except there is another surgeon in the room trying to kill your patient while you are trying to save them. I think about that alot. – at East Midlands, England

This photograph is grotesque. The Home Secretary (@SuellaBraverman) shames herself. And she shames Britain.

Some pupillage interview feedback.
1. Please do a mock interview with your Inn before you do a real one. They are invaluable to obtain real time feedback. You can then avoid making common mistakes. Don’t squander a pupillage interview to test out your interview skills.

I’ve seen a lot of humility from those with pupillage interviews, and there is nothing wrong with that, but don’t allow that to develop into doubts about your own ability. Interview invites mean you have a strong paper application, so be proud of and enjoy that success.

1/ Pupillage candidates often ask how they can keep up with legal issues and developments, so I thought I'd put together an updated thread with things they may want to do to help with that. It may well be some use for practitioners too.
