Just had to slap myselfπ«¨. I found myself disappointed with Β£280 for a 14 day old Angus calf from a jersey cross
My goodness this work is so important and could help the industry so much, the health and safety part has blown my mind and could massively help improve safety on farms with more understanding

Just hearing donald trumps first import ban is going to be grated cheddar.
βLetβs make America grate againβ

Incredible evening Colletts Farm for their 5 course feast in a field, cooked up by Mike Kean.
We were treated to lovely canopies on arrival, followed by -
β‘οΈ Cuban style pulled pork tacos, with Clabber
β‘οΈ Smoked mozzarella salad
β‘οΈ BBQ beef brisket, milk bread and spice relish
β‘οΈ Baked cheesecake and strawberries
β‘οΈ Chocolate truffle drink with raw cream
All the key components of the dishes was produce from Colletts Farm - incredible to put that menu together and to source it all from the place we ate it.
We learnt what Clabber was (fermented raw milk) and how its made - it tasted incredible and not to dissimilar to feta.
Mike talked to us about his adventures and how important it is to him to eat solely local produce from the area he is in at that time.
The setting was perfect, the kitchen and dining tables were in the field with the dairy cows that supplied us with so much of the food we ate.
The company was fascinating, chatting with various people from different walks of life. I bumped into my cousin who I didn't realise would be there, a lovely surprise π
All in all, a fab evening. An event that showcased what an amazing job this small farm is doing, tucked away in this glorious part of Essex.
I will make even more of a point now to call into their farm shop whenever I am that way, too stock up on their meat and raw milk.
I hope it was a success and enjoyed by the team at Collets - i think it was?! I would love to see more of these events...maybe in east Cambridgeshire sometime....?!

Prosecute this tractor driver! This makes me so angry, the effort we go to building relationships with the public and then this π€¦ββοΈ
Iβve been βselectedβ by natural resources wales! Yeh ππ itβs like some junk mail that you never win on π€especially as itβs not even addressed to me just the farm name.
Anyone got any experience and tips of one of these?
My hedge on the right looked like the neighbours hedge on the left a couple of years ago. more conservative and later in the year cutting for @first_milk βs regenerate farming plan is providing a positive difference
Dutch butter keeps going the right way, broke the 6000 barrier for the first time since 2022. Can only be good news?π
