In his resignation letter to Keir Starmer, John Healey wrote “I am certain that a headmark date for 3% of GDP on defence in 2030 is what Britain must set.”
Andy Burnham has refused to commit to the 3% target.
Will we get a date for increased spending in the face of increased threats to Britain in Healey’s budget next week, or just more diversionary media tactics about stocking up on water and tinned foods?
We will soon be able to see how credible Burnham’s government is on Healey’s own key defence test.

Russia tried but failed to interfere in the Brexit referendum. Confirmed by the security minister. Confirmed by the Foreign Office. Burnham should apologise to the British people in the Commons today for trying to delegitimise the result with his half truths. Shameful.

This is a vote for stability and moderation. It is the duty of politicians to work together to make this instruction from voters a reality.
The lower turnout overall likely represents a general unhappiness with the rate of progress being made and should cause the new government to seek faster ways of implementing His Majesty’s commitment to greater prosperity and inclusion.
The higher turnout in the south is hugely encouraging and shows the desire for unity and inclusion in the new Morocco 🇲🇦

On September 15, 2020, the State of Israel, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain signed the Abraham Accords at the White House, opening a new chapter of regional integration, cooperation, and opportunity.
The bold leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has had a transformational impact on the region.
Six years on, relations between the countries have only deepened, with growing trade and investment, strengthening security cooperation, and people-to-people ties that would have been unimaginable a decade ago.
The UK Abraham Accords Group is proud to work alongside parliamentarians, diplomats, and partners across the region to advance normalisation and build a more stable, integrated Middle East. 🕊️🇺🇸🇮🇱🇦🇪🇧🇭
