I've knocked on thousands of doors over the years.
Thousands for myself as a candidate, and thousands for candidates at every level - from Obama in 2007 to state and local candidates - as well as issue campaigns.
As a candidate, I kept each interaction under a minute.
When I was an Obama Organizing Fellow in 2007, I spent several minutes with everyone I made contact with.
Voter contact comes in many forms, each with its own purpose, approach, and time commitment.
But whether you're doing persuasion, deep canvassing, or 15-second GOTV rapid contacts, it's always going to require a greater investment of time and energy - and deliver infinitely more value - than sitting on your bitter, lazy ass firing off a snarky tweet just because you don't like the people actually putting in the work.
Thank you to @DigitalGroundG and every one of their volunteers for putting in the work.

Why cant the Republican party call out their communism?
People attack the DSA (rightfully so), but the Republicans have done more communist acts than the Democrats by far.

Tweets are not activism. You do not support Trump just because you dont tweet about every bad thing he does
You are not a fascist just because you tweet about Hasan Piker more than Mike Rogers
Twitter does not matter. The internet is not real life.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!
Liberal voices online face well-funded harassment from bad-faith political actors and hostile foreign interests.

There is a part of me which is deeply saddened by the gutting of our institutions. What we consider to be "normal" life in the United States could not exist without them and their protection. That being said, I fully acknowledge that some have been slow to adapt, and there are those who have legitimately fallen through the cracks. If we are to make the best of a terrible situation we should ensure that the right people are put in charge of them after this nightmare is over. It will be an opportune chance to revamp and reorient them in a direction more suited to handle modern problems. Our post Trump reconstruction will be the most important period of governmental evolution in the living memory of many.

Has this guy ever had a single problem that he did not blame on destiny or jews/israel?
Hasan calls out the H3 audience for not expecting Ethan to do what he did and says everyone's getting their licks in due to Klein working in collaboration with Asmongold, Tectone, Destiny, etc
"This man has cultivated basically the league of SAer p-dfilic villains to his side to attack any and every progressive figure that used to be a part of his f'in fanbase! Ofc everyone is celebrating even though..horrible situation for the kids, a situation that he presented"
"He created the league of g-on with R-peTone, Asmongold..made Kaceytron write an apology to Asmongold! Are you f'n kidding me! He got direct payments from S-P*stiny's community with Dan Stalkman in tow..now all of those people who used him and ab*sed him..will make fun of him, will act as thought they didn't do this all along"
“This man is the most hypocritical selfish narcissist of all time”

This is a pretty frightening story.
The mayor of the most left-wing city in the state of Wisconsin, and the country, has decided not to run for re-election because of extreme harrassment. And she made it clear it wasn't just from the far-right.
What do you think happens to a democracy when good people are made to feel it is too dangerous to serve the public because of how the public treats them?
It's been more than a decade since I have held elected office, but there's no way I would run again.
Not only is it extremley risky to the candidate and anyone around them, but it's quite literally not even *worth* it when you see how shamefully little elected officials tend to get paid for important work.
"Oh, you shouldn't be in it for the money!"
Gotcha.
Should doctors be "in it for the money"?
Police officers?
Teachers?
I agree, no one should "be in it for the money" but work should be fairly compensated and what do you think happens when most elected officials get paid next to nothing (far below minimum wage like I was)?
Do you think it's a coincidence that local elected officials in particular are RETIRED or RICH OR BOTH?
Who has time to work for nothing? Who can afford to work for nothing?
Not young people.
Not anyone with a family.
Not working class people.
Add on top of that the worsening threats that come with just RUNNING for office, let alone winning and serving.
As the mayor said, this is indeed a threat to democracy.

Yes, I did an interview with you five years ago. I couldn’t have predicted your future career as a tweet census taker.

“Why would anyone agree to an interview with Mehdi Hasan?”
Liberal creators don't need marching orders. They need to know what's happening.
That's what LAN's Trending Alerts are for.

Why would anyone agree to an “interview” with Mehdi Hasan? He’s a bad-faith actor with no interest in a genuine exchange of ideas. His entire shtick is manufacturing gotcha moments, performing outrage, and congratulating himself afterward.
Early warning matters.

Also, imagine the amount of tweets one has sent about one person versus another matters one fat fuck. I tweet about Piker all the time, and will continue to do so until Dems stop flirting with illiberalism. I’m also hosting fundraisers and canvassing and using other platforms to support Dems. I contain multitudes.
What I find meta about this whole discourse is @mehdirhasan attacking everyone for talking about a streamer in California when he constantly asks people about him and then pushes out the videos. I pointed this out in my conversation with him at Georgetown when he asked me about Piker. Seems kinda hypocritical
