Animal torture is horrific, and the video of this incident makes unequivocally clear that this is precisely what occurred. It's unclear why the original post felt the need to bury this horrific act with a note that the candidate is gay, as though his behavior would somehow stand to reason because of his sexuality. It does not stand to reason. It is evil behavior and, while it occurred many years prior, simply qualifying it as "immature, stupid, and wrong" or "a mistake" does not begin to rise to the level of absolute disregard for another being required to torture a small animal. There are some actions that render a potential candidate generally unsuited to represent a party, no matter how long ago they occurred or how much the individual has done since then. Sexually torturing a cat, on video, while laughing, is one of them. And while attacks from political opponents can be ill-intentioned even if accurate, Hall's response to the recirculation of this video minimizes the cruelty on display therein. It is likely true that Hall has built a good life and career for himself over the past decade. That does not change the facts.
