Meet Alneré, Executive Director at #LifeMatterFoundation. Alneré mentions that she “has the privilege of helping with assessing our Gr 2 learners mid-year. Seeing these little ones trying so hard and always doing their best inspires me to keep going and to never give up!”
Shout out to our counsellors - the unsung heroes of our organisation. #TheLifeMattersFoundation #UnsungHeroes #HopeHouse
Hunger is an obstacle to learning. Our Beneficiary schools all have operational feeding schemes, and we are grateful that the meals these learners receive will facilitate productive learning as they work hard to recover lost learning hours as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The majority of our beneficiary schools are no-fee schools, and we've seen first-hand the effects on learners. Now, more than ever, there is a huge need for our targeted literacy and numeracy interventions. Read the full NIDS-CRAM Wave 4 Report : cramsurvey.org/reports/
There are still many issues plaguing children all across South Africa, particularly during this time. Yesterday was the start of #ChildProtectionWeek. Over the next few days we’ll be sharing some ideas of how you can get involved and make a difference. buff.ly/3nPPAn1
As we reflect on what it means to be African and live in this great nation, we should also reflect on how we can continue to contribute to the development of this nation and our home. Happy #AfricaDay!
Sometimes we fear what we don't understand or are not familiar. To help fight the fear, we launched Courageous Conversations which gave young people a space to ask questions that were uncomfortable. How are you celebrating your differences today? #CulturalDiversityDay.
Volunteers are the heartbeat of our work and we need YOU! Here’s what one of our volunteers, Katherine Leslie, has to say. Would you like to get involved and join in the fun of making a difference? buff.ly/2QcCGTD

As we remember what #FreedomDay is all about, let us reflect on some of the privileges [or liberties] we enjoy today because of those who fought so hard for our freedom. Let us also reflect on how we can continue to make a change today for a better tomorrow, for all.
'Share a Story' is the theme of #WorldBookDay this year. The benefits of reading are well documented, and we believe strongly in the power of books! In celebration of this year’s theme, we thought we would share some of the most popular books in our literacy centres.
Did you know that volunteering is good for you? Here are just some of the many benefits of volunteering. We’re looking for volunteers who can help us support Grade 2 and 3 learners with our literacy and numeracy programmes. To get involved: lifemattersfoundation.org/ge…

Hey @Trevornoah - thanks for everything you’re doing to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s legacy at the @GlblCtzn festival. Sorry I can’t be with you - but how about Canada pledges $50M to @EduCannotWait to support education for women & girls around the world? Work for you? Let’s do it.

"Mandela understood that when one citizen isn't free, we cannot be free. We're all still in shackles until we are ALL free. Overcoming poverty isn't an act of charity but an act of justice." -@Oprah #GlobalCitizenFestivalSA #Oprah #BeTheGeneration #MotsepeFoundation #Mandela100
