China’s first AI-generated theatrical film, ‘Sanxingdui: Future Past’, has bombed at their domestic box office, only making $121,000 USD against a budget of $1.5M USD. In contrast, the crudely animated ‘Niu Lai’ made nearly $10M USD against a budget of $200-500 USD.

...did nobody watch the goddamn clip... He literally says he doesn't know when he's gonna stop playing. That his viewers should play it too. Jesus H Christ, we're so cooked as a society
Kai Cenat explains why he won't be playing GTA 6 unless Rockstar games pays him to play , says that since he's the most influential streamer if he doesn't play , his fans won't play either 😬
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The attached video does not support this claim. Kai Cenat says the opposite: he promises to be on an unlimited-time stream the day GTA 6 drops and tells fans "y'all should be playing it... go and enjoy GTA 6." sportskeeda.com/us/streamers/n… win.gg/kai-cenat-reve…

Imagine a future like this: All games on steam made by humans, all games on Epic made by AI. Which one would you buy games on, if you had only one?

This is hilarious Red Lobster, the company that was completely solvent, was bought at its worst time? The company that only had failed because the PE that bought it sold the land under the restaurants, which they purposely paid off, to itself to charge rent, was in trouble?
Replying to @LigerzeroTTV
Those were bought at their worst times. EA was making bank before going private. You people really don’t know the difference do you. People love to harp about how “EA was doing bad” or something but EA was growing at an insane pace since 2013. Closing down shitty studios that don’t make you money isn’t a private equity thing. Microsoft and Sony has closed a lot of studios as well. Lol.

The reason these companies do not survive and the PE purchasers do not care? They’ve already made their money. They’re not purchasing these companies to maximize ongoing profit. They make a ton upfront, anything else is gravy.

Which is why they’re always OK with slashing service and making companies worse, which is guaranteed to lower profit in the long term. Even if they continue to make pennies, they’ve already made millions to billions.

For those of you that disagree with the torture tests @ZacksJerryRig puts phones through - here's an IFixit video clearly showing that the IPhone Duo, should most definitely NOT have an IP68 rating. I'm not quite sure how Apple managed to pull that one off 🤔 Have Apple ever had a worse product launch than the Duo? 🤔😬

FINALLY PLAT'D CONTROL RESONANT Had to speed run NG+ to get to the West Incursion Zone, do the parking garage to get Shift, all to get to the karaoke machine to redo it. Messed up on my first time through and didn't save scum. Should've, but oh well. Game's still a blast!

Ahhh, EA is fucked. As I said a year ago
EA cancels unannounced The Sims project, trims the Skate team and reportedly plans to lay off 400 workers: "We're the number one publisher in Western HD gaming". bit.ly/4zMFx65

And you’ll tell us this studio so we can see the games that are only taking a week to make, right?
Yesterday was one of those days... AI upended the fundamentals of a company I work with. A very reputable studio I work with has gone from launching 4 games a year to 4 full-on games a month. All with arguably better production quality.

Every time a genAI "game dev" says the AI usage disclosure is "punitive", they're lying. Or, more accurately, they're saying "people not wanting to buy my game is punitive". They're not deboosted or deranked for having it, they're not hidden in the store. It's not punitive.

They would rather take the ability to make a personal chose to spend your money out of your hands because for every person who'd have skipped it that buys it, a percentage will realize it's a shit sandwich too late to refund. It's simple greed: no disclosure pads their pockets
