This is not exactly a victory. To begin with, the EU AI Act has a specific scope of application, and it does not mean that the rest of the world will adopt the same measures. Each country has its own legal system and legislative processes. Furthermore, passing a law does not mean that its enforcement will be immediate or that all its objectives will automatically be achieved. Although it is an EU regulation that applies across member states, effective enforcement requires oversight mechanisms, competent authorities, and enforcement measures that must work in practice. The fact that the European Union adopts certain measures does not mean that the rest of the world will follow suit. This also relates to each state's sovereignty, political priorities, and legal framework. It is important to distinguish between a specific legislative measure and the expectation that it will, on its own, transform the global situation. If the real goal is to regulate AI, this can be a starting point, but there is still a great deal of room for improvement, both in the scope of the rules and in their effective enforcement and the protection of creators' rights.

Since getting verified on VGen a few months ago, I've had several people DM me asking for a VGen code. Today, someone messaged me asking if I could share one 🙄 I even stated on my profile that I DON'T GIVE OUT VGEN CODES. Please don't DM me to ask for one. I understand that many people want to join VGen and start selling their art. I had to apply and wait for my account to be approved too. Nobody gave me a code. I participated in VGen's Instagram posts and activities until I was finally approved. There are different ways to get access, and VGen explains the process on its own website. If you can't find the information there, you can also look it up on Google. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but honestly, between the scammers spamming my DMs and the people messaging me with "Hi, do you have a VGen code?", I don't know which is worse anymore 😭 You could at least DM me to ask for a $5 commission instead 🥲 Hahahahah 🥲

I've spent this entire year working on commissions, and yet I've had several people try to haggle over the price of the cheapest illustration I offer: $6. Someone even asked me to create an illustration for an art contest in their city and wanted to pay me only $10. I turned it down because I felt it was highly unethical. I want to make something clear: I don't offer affordable commissions because I think my work is worth little. I offer sketches for $6 because I don't consider that an expensive rate, and because I want people with limited budgets to have the opportunity to get a custom illustration and still enjoy a good experience. That money is also meaningful in my country, so in the end, both sides benefit. I don't see the point in criticizing other artists' prices. Everyone sets their rates based on their country's economy, their expenses, and their own circumstances. What may be affordable for one person may not be for another, and that doesn't mean an artist's work is worth any less.

Every illustrator has the right to decide what they do and don't want to draw. There's nothing wrong with saying, "I don't want to draw this." There could be a thousand reasons for it: bad experiences with clients, personal preferences, or any other reason. Judging someone without knowing the full context, just to stir up controversy on Twitter and get more engagement, seems pretty low to me. It even makes me wonder if this is a personal attack on the artist because of other situations. There are thousands of artists who can draw what you're looking for, so why single out one artist to attack? Why call them out publicly? I don't know; it seems strange to me. Wouldn't it be better to spend that energy looking for an artist whose preferences align with yours instead of throwing venom at someone else? 🤔

I don't like it. I hate the drawing. I'll see tomorrow if I can fix the parts that didn't turn out right, but I don't want it. It's bad.
