People are not suddenly against halal food, the concern is with public procurement making halal certification compulsory in order to qualify to supply food to communities that are <2% Muslim.
Why are people suddenly against food being halal? It’s always been normal with no outrage, so where is it coming from all of a sudden?

The “halal slaughter is more humane”argument dusts me because it’s exactly the same method that white people complain to the SPCA and SAPS about during black traditional ceremonies but somehow it’s a humane & cleanly practice when done by one religious group? Okay.

youre missing the point, a superminority is gaming the system and has effectively created gate fees for entry into supply chains because the rest of us must adhere to mohammedan religious injunctions. and ultimately forced to pay a monthly tribute for continued access.
Growing up, at school we used to be excited for Muslim holidays cause that meant we would also get a day off. I refuse to believe actual South Africans now suddenly care about halaal practices to the point of denoting South Africa to a Christian country.

Let me explain this for the last time with an example😭 The majority of patients in Khayelitsha hospital are non-muslim and Xhosa. So for example, If I as a caterer want to serve umleqwa, I now can’t serve the food and meat my people eat because a muslim board will say it’s not from a halaal certified butcher or fails some sort of standard they have. This is not about halaal, apply it Kosher too for all I care, it’s about social, economic, and political currency that minorities enjoy in South Africa at the expense of the majority. We shouldn’t have to explain that to so called “educated” people. By having to buy from a halaal certified butcher to serve umleqwa where does that leave my local Xhosa suppliers that cannot afford that or simply don’t know how to comply to those specific standards? Who must I now buy from and pay to do business with my own people?

The celebration of our diversity is always presented as mutual and inclusive, yet the compromises required to sustain it appear to be expected disproportionately from one side. We are constantly lectured on the virtues of diversity by those who make little effort to learn our languages and understand our cultures, yet are all too willing to impose their beliefs on us, through courts and otherwise.
No one forces people to eat Halaal or Kosher foods. Woolworths stocks Halaal meat for a reason - there is a market for it. Checkers sells Yahrzeit candles - the ones that last all night that Jewish people use to remember their dead loved ones. Let us celebrate our diversity - go to restaurants that sell alcohol and those that do not. Islamophobia has emerged recently - in whose interests?

the whole 'Rainbow Nation' chat is one sided, the black South African has to bend over backwards to accommodate their oppressors and groups of people who don't rate them at all. all in the name of being progressive and inclusive but at the cost of their dignity and livelihood

One sided diversity. I am so glad Natives are waking up. Ave nidakwa
The discourse is kinda hilarious cause we are a diverse nation why would you be shocked when spaces start accommodating the diversity of the people who occupy them?

I’m going to be frank with you guys, especially the so-called Pan-Africanists/Abahlale….You have to be borderline brain-dead to look at what is happening in this country and think it’s okay……Because from where I’m standing, we are watching this country being brought to its knees, & some of you are cheering it on…. We have “asylum seekers” flooding our markets with counterfeit goods, fake alcohol, cigarettes & even food, undermining legitimate businesses, threatening public health & bleeding our economy dry. We have people bringing in explosives, killing our citizens, including police officers, & destroying our infrastructure. We are watching our own country being overwhelmed, yet you behave as though raising these concerns is somehow offensive……Not so long ago, we learnt about billions leaving this country through spaza shops of “asylum seekers”. And somehow, you STILL think this is funny? These so-called “asylum seekers” are taking from an economy they contribute nothing to, not even rent, not even tax, yet they are treated like royalty while ordinary South Africans are expected to shut up and accept it….And when we finally speak out, what does our government do? @CyrilRamaphosa deploys the @SANDF_ZA against his own citizens instead of listening to the very people who voted him into power….At this point, it feels as though he would rather see South Africans suffer & die than risk making these people uncomfortable. And you people who call themselves Pan-Africanists? You laugh, you gloat and you mock those who dare to raise the alarm, as though the consequences of what is happening will somehow spare you… Bo babes, HEAR me when I tell you this, just because you still have your high-paying job, live in your penthouse & drive your Porsche does not mean you are immune to what is coming. Your privilege might be shielding you from the consequences today, but it will not necessarily shield you tomorrow. It may not have hit you yet, but give it time. And when it does, we will be right here to tell you, WE TOLD YOU SO!

You only ever recognise this diversity when it benefits you. When it requires something from and of you, then you label us with isms and phobias.

Just say South Africans have clocked Muslims intentions and see them for who they are. We no longer listen to brainwashing fake unity. We have seen through them and we’re speaking out against the dominance of oppressors of all kinds including Jews
The online rhetoric in South Africa has shifted from Muslims employing illegal foreigners to now forcing halaal food down consumers throats. By next week, we will hear how the Athaan is a public disturbance and how mosques are a breeding ground for extremist ideology

Initially, I didn't care for this Halaal discourse until I started to seeing a common pattern: Black South Africans are continuously expected inconvenience themselves to cater to minority groups who would never afford them the same benefit.

We were marching down the road after handing over our memorandum, we had arrived at Moore Rd our end point, we had motorbikes behind us so we said let’s go and turn down the road so the bikes can be able to turn… Next thing the Apartheid 2.0 police from outside the province that have been sent by Cyril Ramaphosa to shoot us stood on the road with guns refusing to let us pass and threatening to shoot us !!! The Dictator is flexing his power now using the military and police, I’m sure his friends in Africa are applauding him now!!!

All because you want to live in South Africa illegally without being questioned?
South Africa 🇿🇦’s situation has created a bad image of Africa, even white tourists that wanted to visit Africa think that the whole Africa is killing foreigners.

Calling people low IQ because they refuse to have their dietary choices dictated by religious practices is the perfect example of intellectual arrogance. You can’t defend forced conformity by pretending everyone who disagrees with you is stupid.
All these anti-halaal takes are coming from Low IQ accounts.

Using low IQ as a shield just means you’re unable to articulate a proper response. If you actually understood the topic, you would address the point instead of throwing tantrums.
