Very glad to host the screening of 'And miles to go before I sleep' (Director Tsai Tsung Lung) today at #FulbrightUniversityVietnam.
I'm not the greatest in updating any online profile, but we recently had an amazing guest lecture by Dr. Isabelle Cockel @portsmouthuni. Since then, my students couldn't stop discussing abt the #VietMigrants in #Taiwan. Needless to say, a very successful collaboration!
🔔 Today marks my first day as a lecturer at #FulbrightUniversityVietnam, and it went even better than I could ever imagine. Friendly colleagues, supportive back office & super curious students. Special thanks to @Vietstudies for making this happen! 🙏
For my PhD defense, instead of random gifts, I (shamelessly) asked my family & friends to give me #ColdHardCash so I can donate to @BlueDragonVN. Today I received the last transfer and made the donation ☺️ Oh baby, doesn't it feel good to give! #DonateDontHate #MigrantsAreHumans
And last but not least, just two days ago for my birthday, the #GirlsSquad (@MFigoureux and co) also made a donation to @BlueDragonVN without me even asking. It made my little heart beamed with so much joy ✨️🤍 you know this Dr. so well! thank you, my very special girls 👧 💫
Hello Twitter world, after a long hibernation, I'm back with good news: I have successfully defended my #PhD & officially a Doctor, thanks to the help & support of friends & family near & far, without whom this journey would not have been possible.
Onwards to a new chapter ✨️
Life is so busy I didn't even celebrate that I handed in my PhD thesis weeks ago🥺Thankfully, I have a group of supporting girlfriends who constantly remind me to celebrate big as well as small achievements on this journey. I am so very eternally grateful 🙏
Always feel so overjoyed when colleagues and friends share good news in their academic endeavour with me💌 (eyeing @LMonteiroKrebs😽). Seeing their achievements as my own definitely makes academia less of a big tough competitive space!

Twittersphere, it has been a hot minute since I was last on this space😊but I'm back to share our freshly published paper on #VietnameseFemaleMigrants & their social media use @CogitatioMaC📢Thanks to #OpenAccess, the article can be downloaded for free👇 cogitatiopress.com/mediaandc…
"If you see me only in this physical body, you haven't seen me yet. You can see me in the death row inmates walking mindfully in their cells, in the happy teachers changing the world. See me, in the clouds above, in your mindful steps." #ThichNhatHanh #Thay #ACloudNeverDies
Your work touches me like nothing else & I've hoped to see you in person one day. Now we will have an intellectual conversation everytime I reference your work. Rest in Power, Prof. hooks 🙏 trust that we'll continue your work regardless of oppression🤍

Wrapping up the workshop
#WomensVoicesinAsia(s) @univamu: I presented, co-chaired a panel, received great feedback, shared stimulating convos & enjoyed lots of French culinary (mmm). 🥂cheers to future opportunities on #TransnationalFeministScholarship, but au revoir for now 🇫🇷
Interesting to see many ex-Soviet countries having more #FemaleResearchers. Women do participate in the workforce more in these countries (?!) but central and northern Europe are supposed to have better gender equality. How to make sense of these stats? 🧐
My new map shows the % of female researchers in Europe, according to UNESCO data. Link to the data source is in the map just below the legend.
