For all those who are confused why there are โdevsโ coming out of the woodwork running defence for Tim Sweeney, and trying to throw shade at Steam too.
Theyโll tell you that its about the โ30%โ, or the โmonopolyโ, is that so?
I noticed however thereโs a common link between all these accounts.
Most of them are actually mainly upset at the Ai disclosures and labels Steam have. They consider the act of transparency as some kind of atrocity committed by Evil Gaben. See pic 1.
Many of them on their bio and posts shill Ai vibe coding, A LOT.
Also, they are super hyped for Unreal Engine 6, which is Ai obsession given game engine form.

You can now play Resident Evil 2 in 16:9 and not lose any detail you can play in 60 fps there is facial animation for lip flaps and much more!
Reflections and shadows water effects ahhh man this is such a cool mod I love it this update fucks!
They said they plan to do RE1 and RE2 the same way man this dudes doing gods work!

Discord is making messages from public servers discoverable on search engines like Google starting this November.
Server admins can opt channels out starting today.
Users can opt out of sharing their messages in settings -> Data and Privacy.

When a car goes 25 mph nobody cares. Thatโs what it was designed to do.
When a human being runs 25 mph, itโs an accomplishment because a HUMAN BEING achieved it.
Nobody gives a shit if a machine spits out the code, art, and animations and creates a game. The reason games are successful comes from people experiencing the developerโs own vision. Itโs not just about the product and the profit, itโs about seeing peopleโs ideas come to life through their own work.
Hereโs a hard-to-swallow pill for people who support AI: Having dreams and ideas is not actually impressive, everybody has them. Itโs putting in the effort yourself to make them happen that makes it impressive, and if you think people will still appreciate that when you used an AI to do the hard work for you then you clearly donโt know what it means to truly create.

You know what I think? I think Tim Sweeney is trying to minimise the damage of Epic when Unreal Engine 6 comes out.
Which is why he is going hard against Steam's Ai disclosures.
According to his admission, Unreal Engine 6 is built from the ground up to work alongside generative Ai. Of course he has a very clear vested interest to hide this information from gamers on Steam.
Looks to me like he's protecting his future product.
