Today, we are announcing H1. H1 is a model developed by @HandoffAI that performs autonomous construction takeoffs at the level of a human estimator.
This is an incredible accomplishment for our team that has been in the works since we started the company in 2019. I also believe that this is a monumental step forward for the construction industry as a whole.
Why does this matter? Until now, reading a set of construction drawings and extracting a detailed understanding of how to build a project required a human. That is what a takeoff is.
H1 automates this process entirely, meaning that any construction drawing can now become machine-readable. With a single API call, you can accurately extract all of the characteristics of a building, including detailed material quantities down to every single stud and nail.
Combined with Handoff’s existing AI estimating models and live construction cost data, this also means that every construction drawing can become an accurate construction budget, with materials that can be purchased directly through our supplier partners in just a few clicks.
From the early days of Handoff, we said that we were codifying the language of buildings and developing an abstraction layer that would enable anyone to interact with construction blueprints as if they were structured data.
This is no longer a demo. H1 is available to thousands of construction companies on the Handoff platform, as well as at thousands of Pro Desk locations across every US state.
In addition to announcing our model, we’re publishing a research paper that describes how we built it. We’re also open-sourcing the benchmark we use to validate that Handoff outperforms every foundation model, as well as human estimators, on a set of permissioned construction blueprints.

PALs are emotionally intelligent, multimodal, and capable of understanding and perceiving. They can see, hear, reason, and even look like us.
We’re releasing our 5 favorite PALs to start. Each PAL has its own distinct personality- from AI assistants to best friends.

- Meet us where we are. Face-to-face over video call, on the phone, or even by text.
- Are always thinking. They’re proactive, reach out first, remind you about what you forgot, or might just check in on you.
- Understand us, finally. PALs can see us, understand our tone, emotion, and intent, and communicate in ways that feel more human.
- Evolve with you. PALs have advanced memory, remember your preferences and needs, and adapt themselves over time.
- Are capable. PALs can handle complex tasks — from responding to your emails to moving your schedule around to creating docs and doing research for you.
Science fiction promised us a new human-computer interface, beyond the GUIs of yesterday, a human-like interface that would feel second-nature to use. That future never came, until now.

Announcing that @WillowVoiceAI has raised $4.2 million to build voice-first interfaces.
We started Willow after dropping out of Stanford freshman year to build a healthcare startup. It failed. We pivoted over 10 times, spent a year in the trenches, and learned how to build the hard way.
But we discovered something huge.
Voice scribes were giving doctors their lives back. They were able to focus on helping patients rather than wasting nights and weekends on paperwork.
That's when it hit us. If voice could transform healthcare, why not every knowledge worker? Why are a billion professionals still hammering away at keyboards to communicate with humans (email, Slack, writing) and AI (ChatGPT, Cursor)?

Today I'm proud to announce @confident_ai 's oversubscribed $2.2m seed round with participation from @ycombinator , @flexcapital, @vermilionfund, @January_Capital, and @RebelFund_VC . @KritinV78426 and I couldn't be more grateful for our investor's trust in our open-source approach to LLM evaluation.
Prior to YC, we spent a whole year bootstrapping Confident AI out of our bedrooms for an entire year, building the open-source @deepeval and closed-source platform in adjacent and managed to grow it to one of the most adopted, if not already the most adopted, open-source LLM evaluation framework in the world, despite this competitive landscape against well-funded incumbents.
We applied to YC with Confident AI, got accepted, and closed our seed round in 5 days.

We believe that our approach to LLM evaluation and testing is the future of validating LLM systems and we also strongly believe in the importance of open-source software, especially in AI.
