First time in my career I just bought 3 days worth of diesel at a premium to lock in my supply for the weekend. generally you lock a prompt to the down side. Allocations are tight as a ducks ass in the north east. The last three nights we were scrambling to find ULSD.

This is basically a ppp loan that will only benefits large trucking fleets. None of this will get passed to the consumer.

So who’s gonna let me know if I can sell red dye to fleets?

A few facts regarding dyed diesel. 1. The price of dyed can’t go up due to demand. It’s the exact same as diesel with a very potent red dye and will always be the tax differential less per gallon than clear diesel. 2. Dyed diesel is not harmful to on-road engines. Worst case it stains the fuel filters Personally I’m interested to see how the states handle this as federal tax is a small portion of most of the fuel taxes. In NJ by example taxes make up 80 cents of the cost per gallon but only 24 of it is federal.

You do NOT need to know how to do the trade to own a home service company But you better understand enough to know when something is wrong Learn how the work gets done Learn how jobs are priced Learn what your technicians deal with every day You don’t need to be the best plumber in the company You need to know enough to lead the people who are

Anyone else have this cycle where business grows to a point where a 6 month ago version of you would kill to be at? The business continues to come in, you build systems and hire to handle it. THEN you get super bored. Looking for the next dopamine hit.

The truck parking hate is the same as broker hate a few years back. If it’s so profitable stop complaint about it and get into it. Spoiler, they are both very good businesses. Ask me how I know 😎

Of course truck parking costs money. The bank charges interest on the property. The seller charged for the land. The town charges taxes. Insurance costs money. Maintenance costs money. Truckers are business owners, not civil servants entitled to free storage. Appreciate truckers all day long, but business expenses are part of the game. Put your big boy pants on and stop crying every time parking isn’t free. A tractor trailer takes up 1,000+ square feet. Nobody owes you that space for free. If you find free parking or the state provides it, great. That means you did good business that day.

If you’re a dad with young kids and you’re healthy and fit. And you’ve got a steady job/career and a roof over your head. And a great wife. Please recognize this: you are living the dream life. The “good old days” are literally happening to you right now.

The 10 cent cash/credit spread at gas stations/ truck stops makes no sense at current costs. Assume $6 diesel, 3% fee is 18 cents. This is welfare.

I’m at a point in my life where people offer things, ask things of me, or try to do things “for me” that are supposedly in my best interest. But I’ve realized they’re not. They’re framed that way, but they’re really for the benefit of others. I’m just a means to help them get ahead. And I’m no longer in a place where I need to say yes. So I’ve stopped subscribing to that. I leave it on read. Cut the noise.

TRUMP: 20 LARGE OIL TANKERS TO TRANSIT STRAIT OF HORMUZ UNDER US ESCORT STARTING TOMORROW MORNING
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 20 tankers are Pakistani-flagged vessels allowed by Iran to transit the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian escort, not US escort as claimed. No US Navy escorts of tankers are scheduled to begin March 31. aljazeera.com/news/2026/3/28… news.usni.org/2026/03/10/ope…

I had a plumbing company quote us $3500 to install a Moen Flow automatic water shutoff. We already had the parts. $3500 to crimp and install. You ought to be shitting me.

My prediction: DEF is codified. It is winning tech. The urea quality sensor was faulty and lasted too long but a NOx sensor solves the headache. 100% of “bad def” code calls I’ve gotten were false positives when we used a urea refractometer. This EPA move today signifies the admin has interest in improving the usage of the SCR system. My prediction is OEMS will push the limits on how low of NOx they can achieve with a higher DEF burn rate.
