It’s time to find compassion for boys and men.
A shift in public perspective is overdue, and progress can accelerate if women—particularly those with liberal values—champion this cause, because the future isn’t female: The future is everyone.
New from me for the @latimes 🙌

I’ve watched this trend pick up over the past year, women saying they regret having their children, influencing other moms to share those thoughts, then causing more moms to consider those thoughts... and to scare women from having children. It’s all very dark. They don’t even think about the women seeing it that can’t have children and are struggling.
I really hope the @UN does the right thing this year and officially recognizes International Men’s Day on November 19th.
The Future is Everyone!
I was eating at a restaurant in Milan tonight. While I was enjoying my dinner, I noticed the host joking around with a little girl at a table next to the host stand. She was sitting with her mother and they weren’t eating. I knew what was up. When I was paying the bill, I said “Famiglia?” and pointed to the table. The host said “Yes, that is my little daughter.” I said “Bellissimo.” And he said “She takes after her father” and laughed, but then looked at me with a serious look, knowing what I truly meant.
This guy was working on a Sunday night and all he wanted to do was spend time with his daughter, but had to serve tourists (who could barely speak basic Italian) pasta. This hardworking man was trying to be the most engaged father he could be. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 is men. Men are awesome.
Do these people still live in the 50s? I hate how these posts go viral. Men are more engaged at home than ever. It’s women’s traditional expectation$ of men that hasn’t really budged. And men have always done more at home than “the garbage.”
I’ve followed @NewEmergingKing since the beginning and finally met him last month. Such an inspiring man. He has done so much for boys and young men. He’s a great leader! We need more mentors like him.
We talk so much about teaching boys the “big” lessons in life that we skip the basics.
A lot of young men were never taught how to walk up, make eye contact, introduce themselves, speak clearly, and carry themselves with confidence.
That sounds small… until you realize those little things follow you into interviews, relationships, business, and adulthood.
Sometimes preparing a boy for life starts with teaching him how to say his own name properly.
So let me get this straight… All men should pay the price societally, blamed and shamed, for the crimes committed by a very small number of men, but women shouldn’t even pay the price for the crimes they actually commit themselves, even if they don’t have children?
Elizabeth Holmes’s crimes were egregious. But far fewer women, with or without children, should be incarcerated at all, writes Tyler Cowen. thefp.com/p/tyler-cowen-eliz…
The election is right around the corner and the Republicans are predicted to lose the House. Perhaps they should have listened to advocates. Winning the male vote wasn’t enough… they should have done more to improve the lives of boys and men.

I’m seeing modern women being like “Wow! What an amazing man! Why can’t I find a man like that? Ugh, men!” Ummm… this was the norm before women demanded “equality!” lol The fact this is even news is hilarious… “exclusive”

As I always say, the gender war goes out the window when real war comes through the door…
Any male-only or male-dominated space is on blast right now, demonized for bad behavior by a few. Here, they’re highlighting how football games are environments of extreme sexism and misogyny using this woman’s claim, and how more work has to be done to make women feel welcome and safe.
"It has always been that if you go to a football game and you're a woman, you will be subject to sexism and misogyny," said Durham University sociology professor Stacey Pope who leads research in the area of women, football and inequalities.
"It will just be called 'banter' and there will be this sense that if you're a woman and you don't like it, then you shouldn't go to the match."
I want women to feel welcome and safe, but this excessive shaming and policing of male behavior is just too much. If women want to enter male-dominated spaces and these men aren’t hurting anyone, just let them enjoy the game. This is making women all sound like Karens.
Not surprising. So many things that are considered “misogynistic” when men do it are viewed as “female empowerment!” when women do it, and that includes “spinning plates.”
"The Rules" for women basically gave the same advice as PUA/red pill gives to men: a.co/d/0g56EN4C
Just 91 of 590 articles (15%) published in Psychology of Men & Masculinities between 2000 and 2018 had a positive focus. This is outrageous. Our society today is anti-men at its core, and this needs to change!
A review of 65 masculinity measures classified 51 (78%) as deficit-focused, emphasizing negative outcomes associated with masculinity
Only 14 (22%) included ANY attention to masculinity’s strengths. That does not mean those measures focused primarily on strengths
Just 91 of 590 articles (15%) published in Psychology of Men & Masculinities between 2000 and 2018 had a positive focus
40% of domestic abuse victims are male yet abused boys and men are identified as “Male victims of violence against women and girls.” But, yeah, the world only cares about men…
New @ONS domestic and partner abuse figures show 40% of victims are male. ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationa…
However, given the erasure and lack of narrative about male victims from national organisations, you'd think it was 4%... @CollegeofPolice @npcc @ukhomeoffice @MoJGovUK #Enough
Some people suggest that the gender war is just online nonsense that doesn’t have an impact on the real world. They’re wrong. This rhetoric is pumped out and instilled in the minds of women, and it’s having real world consequences.
Society: Why are young men sexist and say “Marriage isn’t worth it unless you want to lose everything.” Something is WRONG with men!
Also society: Get divorced, girl! Empowering! Husbands are burdens. Single life is great! Most empowering? Grey divorce! Go get what you deserve!
People like Amy here push to abolish male-only spaces because they’re “bad” while at the same time highlight all the positives that come out of female-only spaces. Could they take a minute to pause, reflect, and recognize perhaps their biases and sexism is preventing them to see the positive impacts of male spaces?

How come we only see articles normalizing this behavior when it’s a female teacher?
“It was clearly a different time, and perhaps attitudes towards teacher-pupil relationships were different from those we have today,” says Tom.
“But I have never really thought of myself as a victim. I was 17, not a young child. At the time, I truly believed I was making my own, ‘adult’ decisions" ⤵️

This is the way most people frame it… women are always the victims. With the many challenges facing boys and men today, the response is mostly “how is this impacting girls and women?”
“Male empowerment!” Lol could you imagine?
I’m in Milan now, and I was walking around a farmers market and popped into some bakeries. I’ve seen so many solo dads with their children. Men wearing baby carriers, pushing strollers. More engaged fathers isn’t “just something happening in Brooklyn.” It’s happening globally, and I think men deserve more recognition for this.
