Increasing the Local Property Tax primarily raises revenue from the highest income households.
The figure below shows that nationally, about a quarter of the revenue from abolishing the 15% rebate would come from the highest income tenth, and just a third from the bottom half.

What a day!!
Dubliners voted to elect a campaigner who has always stood on the strength of our diversity in how it makes us stronger by overwhelmingly rejecting the ideas of hate and division 🌹

949 = local election seats
2 = combined seats won by Irish Freedom Party, National Party, Ireland First & Irish People
0.21% of all seats
Add Steenson & Pepper
0.42% of local seats.
Yet these groups are allowed to torment and intimidate communities year in year out???

Just home from two very long days in the RDS with both local and European elections. A really great day for @labour with great gains in old labour heartlands. Looking forward to following more tomorrow and hoping to see @AodhanORiordain elected and returning to the S&D group 🌹
