And now, it’s award-winning! 💚🍀 Huge thanks to the @TellyAwards for this incredible recognition, to Tourism Ireland for your amazing support, and to the fabulous team at The Jet Set for bringing this journey to screens across the country. 🎥 A big shout-out to Anthony from Money You Should Ask for filming the unboxing and capturing all the joy behind the scenes! Hong Kong is one of those places that I’m always excited to return to. ❤️✈️ I’ve loved traveling throughout Asia, and Hong Kong has a special place in my travel memories. I love the energy, the food, the harbor and especially the architecture including those incredible buildings with open spaces cut through them. They’re often called “dragon gates” or “dragon holes,” reflecting the feng shui belief that dragons need a path from the mountains to the sea. 🐉 So I was especially excited to celebrate Cathay Pacific’s 80th anniversary at The Grove in Los Angeles with my friend and former Princess Cruises colleague Amy. It was such a fun night under the stars! ✨ Cathay Pacific has been connecting travelers with Hong Kong and destinations around the world for eight decades, and I loved seeing the vintage uniforms alongside a look at what’s next. I also got to experience Cathay Pacific’s award-winning Aria Suite Business Class up close. Sitting in the suite while a flight attendant walked me through the full-flat experience made me want to get on a plane and fly to Hong Kong immediately! ✈️🇭🇰 With Aria Suites now available on flights from Los Angeles, I’ll definitely be thinking about that experience the next time I’m planning a trip to Asia. We also enjoyed signature cocktails and dishes inspired by Cathay’s onboard offerings plus the very tempting chance to win a Business Class trip to Hong Kong! Travel has taken me to more than 100 countries, but there are places that continue to call me back. Hong Kong is one of them.
Happy 80th Cathay Pacific! 🌏💚 #CathayPacific #HongKong #travel #Asia @cathaypacific @TheGroveLA @CurichWeiss @flyLAXairport @HongKongTourism
I met Ezra Frech at a Team USA event on the road to the Paris Paralympics, and I loved talking with him about his determination, commitment and the work it takes to reach the highest level of sport.
Then I got to watch him compete in Paris — and win gold medals! 🥇🥇
Now I’m excited to see where that same determination takes him next as he hits the dance floor on Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars with professional partner Daniella Karagach!
From Team USA to the dance floor, I’ll be cheering for #TeamFootloose all the way to the Mirrorball Trophy! 🪩🏆
It’s pretty incredible to meet someone on the road to one dream and then get to watch them take on an entirely new challenge.
Go Ezra and Daniella!! ❤️

🎂 BRAVE-ish is THREE today! 🎉 Three years ago today, BRAVE-ish: One Breakup, Six Continents, and Feeling Fearless After Fifty arrived in the world. And honestly, it feels impossible to celebrate this birthday without thinking about how many people helped bring this book to life.
I’m incredibly grateful to my agent Chip MacGregor, Debbie Englander and everyone at Post Hill Press, my developmental editor Ann Campbell and all the editors, publicists and PR people who helped shape, polish, promote and share this book.
I’m grateful for the friends who took countless calls while I was writing and editing, listened to me talk through the 50 Before 50 project, encouraged me to keep going and celebrated the adventures along the way.
And I’m grateful for every destination, tourism board, travel company, TV show, podcast host, journalist, editor, interviewer, bookseller, event organizer and reader who has given BRAVE-ish a place in their world.
Three years, 12 book awards, countless adventures and SO many wonderful people later, I’m still amazed by the support this book has received. Truly, it has been unbelievable. ❤️
Writing BRAVE-ish changed my life. But the greatest gift has been everything that happened because of it — the conversations, connections, opportunities, adventures and reminders that being brave doesn’t mean being fearless. Sometimes it means taking the next step, saying YES to something new and making your own map.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. I could never have imagined where this book would take me — or how many wonderful people I would meet along the way.
Happy 3rd birthday, BRAVE-ish! 🥂🗺️❤️
Here’s to the next chapter… and the next YES.

Gloria Steinem died this week at 92, and my sister sent me this photo. I first learned about Gloria Steinem and Ms. Magazine from Joannie Parker when I was a student at Westlake School for Girls. I never could have imagined that years later, I would write for Ms. Magazine. Not just once, but so many times. And then my sister took me to see GLORIA, the play about Gloria Steinem. And somehow, Gloria Steinem herself was at the performance we saw. She is in the picture—and there I am, too. We were both there, in this extraordinary little moment that I never expected. Full circle.
From learning about Gloria … to becoming a writer for Ms.… to unexpectedly being in the same theater with her. It feels especially poignant this week. She really did change the world. ,And I am so grateful I got to witness even the smallest piece of her extraordinary story. ❤️ @MsMagazine @HWSchool @HWAlumni

So grateful to @TravelLeisure for the opportunity to bring together some of my favorite cool-cation adventures in one story! ❄️
From taking a polar plunge south of the Antarctic Circle with @QuarkExpedition to an unexpected plunge while paddle boarding in Antarctica, and from walking with polar bears and hearing beluga whales sing with @ChurchillWild in Canada to braving my first -120°C cryotherapy experience at Appenzeller Huus in @Switzerland , this story brought together some pretty unforgettable adventures.
And yes, I really did all of them! 🥶
Thank you to @TravelClassics and Nina at Travel + Leisure for the opportunity to share these experiences and the incredible places and people who made them possible.
I’m grateful I get to travel, try things that scare me, and then write about them. ❤️

✨ What an incredible evening celebrating journalism at the beautiful Biltmore hotel for the 68th Southern California Journalism Awards! It was wonderful to reconnect with friends, celebrate fellow journalists, and be inspired by so much outstanding storytelling.

I'm so grateful to be part of this amazing journalism community, and I can't wait to see where the next story takes me. ❤️
After taking a polar plunge in both Antarctica and the Arctic, I never imagined I'd voluntarily step into another kind of extreme cold. 🥶🇦🇶➡️🇨🇭 At the new QUELL Spa at Appenzeller Huus in Switzerland, I tried cryotherapy for the very first time. The chamber is cooled to -120°C (-184°F), and while guests can stay for up to three minutes, I decided to go the distance and stayed for the full time. It was COLD. Instantly, unbelievably cold. Kevin, who guided me through the experience, suggested I keep moving, so I found myself dancing around the chamber while watching the countdown. 💃❄️
Was it freezing? Absolutely. Was it something I'd ever done before? Not even close. Am I glad I was brave enough to try it? Definitely. Appenzeller Huus felt like the perfect place for my first cryotherapy experience. The hotel's beautiful new QUELL Spa and L3 Longevity Circle combine innovative wellness with thoughtful luxury, making it the ideal place to step outside my comfort zone.
I shared more about this experience and how it compares with taking polar plunges in Antarctica and the Arctic in my latest Travel + Leisure article: “3 Minutes in Extreme Cold Changed the Way I Think About Wellness Travel” travelandleisure.com/wellnes… Some of my favorite travel memories come from saying yes to something I've never done before. Would you try three minutes at -120°C (-184°F)? 🥶 @Switzerland @TravelClassics @TravelLeisure
One of the biggest surprises during my stay at Appenzeller Huus was the vast wine cellar complex, including the champagne, white wine, and red wine cellars. Everywhere we turned there were more bottles, more magnums, and another beautiful space waiting behind a glass wall. What fascinated me most was the contrast. Part of the collection is housed beneath a hotel built with traditional Appenzell craftsmanship, yet access is controlled by facial-recognition technology and the inventory is managed digitally. Old-world hospitality meets cutting-edge innovation. The numbers are impressive too: more than 20,000 bottles, over 2,000 different wines, and a cellar complex spanning about 350 square meters. Appenzeller Huus describes it as the largest wine cellar in Switzerland. I expected beautiful rooms, incredible tapestries, wellness experiences, and a rooftop pool. I didn't expect to find one of Switzerland's most ambitious wine programs hidden below ground. 🍾✨ #AppenzellerHuus #HUUSQUELL #Switzerland #wine #champagne
What a magical way to celebrate the Fourth of July and America's 250th! 🇺🇸✨ Watching the fireworks light up the sky over the Hollywood Bowl, surrounded by live music, special friends, and a picnic under the stars, was everything I love about summer in Los Angeles. Grateful for an unforgettable evening filled with music, laughter, and a spectacular finale. The Hollywood Bowl truly is one of the best places to experience summer in LA! ❤️🎆
