Just saw a @sainsburys security guard and staff member forcibly eject an obviously known shoplifter from their store. Good to see them actually having the backbone to do this without fear of repercussions, it's the only way the scum will learn!
At least their approach includes some 'start!'

This is a major bugbear of mine (along with people making calls on speaker phone) but it needs active enforcement, along with feet on seats etc, which I suspect won't happen. Will it also cover parents using noisy phone games/videos instead of entertaining their kids?
It's so frustrating when the actions of a few spoil your journey.
Our new campaign reminds passengers to use headphones on trains, and highlights the penalties.

3 different sets of lift status information.
@chilternrailway and @nationalrailenq say the lifts (plural) to the multi-storey at Banbury aren't working.
@CrossCountryUK says it's the lift to p3.
stationlifts.org.uk says it's only one lift broken!
Which is correct?
Sorely a trusted local paper should be trying to actually discourage speeding, not just promoting ways to avoid getting caught!
Speed camera warning gadget down to £27 and saves drivers from 'points on licence and insurance hikes' trib.al/gyXpybD
Typical, travelled around the Netherlands with our @Interrail passes no issues. Got back to the UK and a poorly-trained barrier staff member refused to let us on the platform after inventing spurious restrictions, then tried to get us thrown off train when we stood our ground! 😤
And how many of these people actually live within an easy walk of a bus stop? And even if they do, is the service actually frequent and reliable enough to be anything other than a 'last resort' travel option, especially at evenings and weekends?
'Get out and about' - A third of people eligible for free bus travel have not applied for a pass, Banburyshire’s bus service says

My boss lives on a different continent!
I'm sure he'd love me phoning him at 3am to tell him I can't make it into the office!

This is why @CrossCountryUK need to stop *all* the Reading-Newcastle services at Banbury. The Bournemouth train was late and so full that many people were left on the platform (including me). The Reading train allowed us to carry on our journey. We need them to act as backups!
There's a definite irony in @JLL plastering every glass walkway panel in @NetworkRailLST with 'Brighter Cities' adverts, making the whole station feel rather darker!
A taste of things to come with the upcoming redevelopment?
Fantastic @evanescence gig tonight at the O2, ably supported by Poppy and K.Flay.
Shambolic Sunday morning at Banbury. Chiltern line into Marylebone closed for engineering, CrossCountry cancels the first train south due to lack of train crew. Following train is a GWR stopper to Oxford, which is timetabled to miss the connection to Reading/Padd by just 3min!
And no prizes for guessing what they put on the train leaving Birmingham at 5pm! I had a reservation but the screen is showing Exeter to Bristol, which isn't even on this route!
Not helped by a gap in the Coventry Leamington service, presume WMR have nicked the unit for Arena run
It's a Bank Holiday Saturday, lots of people traveling, so of course the CrossCountry train which gets to Birmingham around 10am is a single 4-car unit!
Good on Chiltern for stepping up. Hopefully might prove the workability of permanent Oxford - Moor St services.
A power failure at @CrossCountryUK's control centre means their trains can’t run today, so the industry is pulling together to keep customers moving.
In order to help, we have added services between Birmingham Moor Street and Oxford and are accepting all CrossCountry tickets via any reasonable route.
