hello friends I am three days into a long process involving the Library of Congress, a python script, and some help from AI I am downloading every single article in the archive (from 1790 to 1969) that mentioned the word "Dominican" - a little under 40,000 I am 87% done. Once I have them all in, I'll do some OCR scanning and turn it into a .csv or .txt file to make it all easier to process and analyze Naturally some articles will be useless, I don't anticipate all 40,000 being relevant to the country or its history nonetheless the ultimate objective is to document how the DR has been perceived in American media throughout the years While I understand that not every article ever published made it to the Library of Congress, and that history did not end in 1969, I anticipate this project will wind up being resourceful and educational. Among the many use cases for it, we should be able to compare what our history books were saying about specific eras or events, and contrast that with what was being reported directly at the time. Any discrepancies between those are worthy of further analysis and investigation. Here's a sample for your consideration as I wrap up the project. The Key West Citizen (Newspaper) August 9, 1947

A guy with a red “Jesus” hat walked up to me at Walmart, made eye contact, and said “hope you have a good day, man!” with a smile on his face I am pleased to inform you that I will, in fact, be having a good day

How to organize every single thing you've ever tweeted: 1.) Request a full download of your Archive through X settings. Look up how to do this on your own if you're unsure, will take a few days for archive to generate 2.) Sign up for Grok Bot and download the Desktop app for it 3.) Get a Trello Account. Obtain the API key for your account. You'll also have to look this up on your own, won't cram the explanation in here 4.) Download archive once it's ready and unzip the file 5.) Connect Grok Bot to Trello. Ask it for step by step instructions 6.) Add the Twitter Archive folder to a Grok Bot project, then tell it to sort the tweets into categories on a Trello board. It can include the hyperlink to each original tweet for easy access. 7.) You can organize the thing on a single Trello board, or have it divide it on up to 10 boards. You get 14 days of free API access, which is more than enough for the project to run its course, and boards will remain in place once your Premium trial expires 8.) If you don't want your tweets to migrate to a different platform, have Grok Bot vibe-code a Trello-like website for you, and have it sort your files in a folder system on your own computer. You can then either host that on Grok's servers or run the HTML file internally If this requires further explanation, all you have to do is set up your Grok Bot and tag @bot in the replies Hope this helps

People are coming to my house to ask me if I agree with the job Democrats are doing right before the election in a few days. Unsure if Republicans are conducting electoral research or if the Dems are building a hit list to come murder me as soon as they're voted back into power.

Incredible hack to make life so much more MAGICAL: LOWER YOUR THRESHOLD FOR INSPIRATION. Train your perception to the point that you are CONSTANTLY being energised by the beauty, ingenuity, success, and wonder all around you. A piece of art. Someone’s outfit. The interior of a hotel. The rising popularity of an app. A beautifully designed building. The way somebody carries themselves. Allow yourself to be inspired by the SIMPLEST of things. You don’t need to witness some extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime spectacle to experience a moment of genuine AWE. There is so much to marvel at in the ordinary, if you would only take a moment to appreciate it. Here’s a funny example: Right now, this very post was inspired by me seeing TWO McDonald’s locations within five minutes of each other. Something most people wouldn’t give half a second’s thought to. But GOOD GOD. Think about what that actually represents. Human beings have managed to build an organisation of such PHENOMENAL scale that it can have two locations operating profitably within five minutes of each other. And replicate that same business model TENS OF THOUSANDS of times, across the entire planet. All from an idea, brought into existence by human imagination, intelligence, ambition, and extraordinary execution. THAT IS FUCKING INCREDIBLE. And to think that something as mundane as driving past a McDonald’s can serve as a reminder of just how much is possible! Now imagine going through life with this same attitude towards EVERYTHING. Instead of mindlessly walking past the accomplishments of others, you become FASCINATED by them. Instead of feeling threatened by somebody else’s success, you become ENERGISED by it. Instead of taking beautiful things for granted, you allow yourself to be genuinely MOVED by them. You begin seeing evidence of human greatness EVERYWHERE. And the more you recognise it in others, the more you begin recognising the potential for it within YOURSELF. Because every extraordinary thing you encounter is a reminder that someone, somewhere, once conceived of something that didn’t yet exist, and then brought it into reality. WHY NOT YOU? Why shouldn’t you create something magnificent? Why shouldn’t you achieve something that leaves somebody ELSE standing there in absolute fucking amazement? I think there is something incredibly powerful about cultivating a mind that is so easily impressed by the RIGHT things. A mind that is constantly collecting new reasons to THINK BIGGER, AIM HIGHER, and EXPECT MORE from life. And there’s a beautiful compounding effect to this. The more you allow yourself to be inspired, the more things you begin noticing that inspire you. Until eventually, the world begins to feel like one gigantic exhibition of POSSIBILITY. The world is FULL of extraordinary things that have become ordinary through familiarity. Learn to see them with fresh eyes. Make a conscious effort to admire something today that you ordinarily wouldn’t give a second thought to. LET YOURSELF BE IMPRESSED. LET YOURSELF BE AMAZED. LET YOURSELF BE INSPIRED. The more easily you can find inspiration in the world around you, the more MAGICAL your experience of being alive becomes. And the more frequently you will be reminded of just how much MORE you, too, are capable of. Namaste.

MAKING AMERICA SAFE AGAIN 🇺🇸 Today, I announced the FCC will vote to authorize prisons to jam contraband cellphones for the first time ever. Almost 500,000 inmates now have access to them and 25,000 phones are seized in jails annually. Inmates are using them at exceptionally high rates to order hits, run drug operations, enable CSAM abuse of young kids, and many more awful acts. We are now giving state and local prisons & jails a tool they’ve been denied for years. Grateful for the chance to get this across the finish line.

Claude Code just found proof that every app on your phone is listening to your conversations. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat. they're using what you say out loud to build your feed. i have the data to prove it. i've suspected this for months but last week something happened that made me finally check. i was on a call with my friend and told him i'm thinking about breaking up with my girlfriend. didn't text it. didn't search it. just said it out loud with my phone on the table. two hours later she opens TikTok next to me and her entire feed is breakups. "signs your relationship is over." "how to heal after a breakup." she looked at me and said "why is TikTok showing me this." i said i don't know. but i did know. i connected my iPhone to my MacBook and ran Claude Code that same night. it scanned every app's background microphone activity for the last 90 days. not just the apps that asked for microphone permission. apps that were supposed to only have access to photos or location but were activating the microphone anyway. what it found: → TikTok activated the microphone 347 times while the app was "closed" in the background → Instagram → 211 background activations → Facebook → 189 → Snapchat → 94 every activation lasted between 3 and 15 seconds. enough to catch a sentence. every one of them tagged a keyword and cached it locally on the phone with a timestamp. Claude Code pulled the full keyword cache: → "breakup" — tagged 4 hours before her feed changed → "moving out" — from a conversation with my mom last Tuesday → "wedding venue" — from a call with my sister about her engagement that i never searched once → "protein powder" — said it out loud to my roommate, had ads for it within an hour → "flight to tokyo" — mentioned it at dinner, saw travel ads the same night those keywords were sitting in a local cache on my phone organized by app with timestamps. TikTok had the most entries. Instagram was second. every single keyword matched a conversation i had out loud near my phone. the scariest one was "wedding venue." my sister told me she's getting engaged on a private call. i never searched it. never typed it. within a day my explore page had engagement rings and venue tours. then Claude Code checked a second phone in the same room. my girlfriend's. same keywords. same timestamps. both phones were picking up the same conversation and tagging it independently. i asked Claude Code how to shut it down. it mapped every app's microphone access and built a permission audit. what i did: → revoked microphone access from every app that doesn't need it to function → disabled background app refresh for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat → turned off "Hey Siri" which keeps the microphone in passive listening mode 24/7 → revoked "nearby interaction" permission which uses ultrasonic audio between devices Claude Code confirmed all four apps lost background microphone access after the changes. i checked her phone too. same steps. took about 3 minutes per phone. within 48 hours both our feeds went completely random. generic content. nothing personal. nothing from our conversations. that's when i knew for sure it was real. the full step by step and the prompt are in the first reply. takes 3 minutes. save it so you don't lose it and send it to anyone who's ever said "my phone is definitely listening to me." it is. now you can prove it and shut it down.

Increíble, descarado, indignante..pero cierto.👇i
