Making a (semi) perma-pinned post for the podcast, if you care to listen to a show hosted by a couple of dorks (don't deny it, @TheJoStizzy) about video games and the business thereof:

Bioware is dead! (long live bioware) Mass Effect Universe is canceled! Ubisoft closes another studio and Control Resonant is only okay.

Can anyone answer this:
Why are the most considerate, considered the least?
Why are the most thoughtful, thought of the least?
Why are the most caring, cared about the least?
Why are the most generous, shown the least generosity?
Why are the most passionate, treated with the most indifference?
Guess what? Your favorite game streamer doesn't actually care about video games.
They care about subscriptions and superchats.
On tomorrow's (!) episode of The Internet's Worst Gaming Podcast:
Bioware is dead! Was it self-inflicted or murder? How much blame should Dragon Age: The Veilguard take? What can fans do moving forward?
Plus, EA isn't the only company closing studios (it's Ubisoft again).

Please play more Japanese/Chinese/Korean games.
YES ACTUALLY
Replying to @CleytusLive @madcap412
Gamers are so fucking stupid, they've been duped into genuinely celebrating having less people available to make their games.

Not gonna lie, if your game looks anything like or reminds me of:
undertale
minecraft
or stardew valley
I am checked the heck out.
(yes i know they took inspiration from older games my point stands)
People really aren't aware this is from WotC, huh?
Mass Effect Is Canceled, but Its Spiritual Successor Exodus Could Give Fans What BioWare Couldn’t
“BioWare is dead, the next Mass Effect has been canceled, and Electronic Arts has officially closed the book on one of gaming’s most celebrated role-playing game developers. However, fans mourning the loss of the franchise may already have something considerably more promising on the horizon.
That game is Exodus, an upcoming science-fiction action RPG from Archetype Entertainment, a studio established by veterans of BioWare’s golden age, including developers responsible for some of the most beloved RPGs ever created.”
Life has a way of placing us on paths where the destination is blurry and the road ahead seemingly endless. To make things harder, oftentimes the weight of everything behind us can make each step forward just a little bit more difficult than the last.
When you feel this way, fix your eyes on the horizon and keep moving forward, even if the darkness surrounds you.
It's important to remember that the horizon is simply a boundary that marks the limit of what we can currently see, not the limit of what's actually ahead.
The darkness of the present does not diminish tomorrow's light. No night has ever prevented the dawn from coming.
My advice: just keep moving forward, even when the dark horizon is all you can see.
Eventually, the sun will shine on you.

It would be fine if EA sold their IPs (but I doubt it will happen), but Bioware is dead and deserves to stay dead.

Outside of futurists like Clarke, Asimov and Gibson, sci-fi is rarely about predicting the future, so much as it is saying that no matter the tech or time, humans act the same.
Verne was worried about the trajectory mankind was on, but didn't make his stories allegorical.
Herbert, Heinlein, and Ellison wrote about current-day issues, and set them in fantastical places, but I would hesitate to use the word "criticize."
Perhaps "analyze."
One of the questions we have for this week's recording breaking down #Metropolis is science fiction about predicting the future, or criticizing the present? What do you think? We'll read and discuss the best answer and send you some #ScarifSwag in sticker form.
