My first time in India, I was 19? I think. Went to the small area outside of puttaparthi. Was there almost a month with my aunt Alice and grandma. Near the end of the trip I randomly met this other black dude out there he offered to get me stoned.. man. Let me tell u. Getting high in this tiny village in India. Deep third world country vibe, seeing people pumping for water. Chickens fighting on the rooftops. He was like..
“Kinda like bedrock huh? “
Then he told me he was originally from from New York, and had been on the run for about 20 years. When I asked him what he did, he didn’t say shit. He just had this blank stare. Looking in the distance.
I’ll never forget it.
