Mitcham hedgehog project caught this hedgehog utilizing a hedgehog highway to move between habitats. By creating a small 13×13 cm opening in garden fences, you can help maintain habitat connectivity and support local hedgehog populations! ⭐🦔

We wanted to take this opportunity to say a massive thank to @tigerfoodman as he retires from ZSL. Chris founded London HogWatch in 2016, bringing his camera trapping expertise to help London’s hedgehogs. Lucky for us he will remain involved in the project. 🦔🥳
@ZSLScience
We are also delighted to share that @MarcusRowcliffe , who has been part of the project since its inception, has taken over from Chris. We are excited to see how the project continues to grow and look forward to what 2026 brings! 🦔🌟
Huge congratulations to Hedgehog Hugh, Joanne Gilbert, and the entire Wild Chiswick team on their well‑deserved recognition at the Science and Conservation Awards at ZSL! 🎉🌟
We’re thrilled to see your work celebrated! 💚🦔

Do you think you know the Highway Code? If only! Since 2024, there has been a new sign - Small Animal Crossing. A sign in the photo features a hedgehog - thanks to @zsl and @LondonHogWatch! I'd better hold a headlight on my bike to secure these tiny animals on the road. – at Richmond, London

It's #NationalAllotmentsWeek2025🪴🌻
Allotments are important green spaces and habitat for #hedgehogs and other wildlife in urban environments. We've been monitoring a few allotments as part of the this year and they've been beautiful and full of wildlife! 🦔 🦋 🦉@officialzsl

For ages we believed hedgehogs were only found in Grove Park, Chiswick. Now we hear of sightings around Dukes Meadow. Let us know via wildchiswick.com/naturesurve… of any wildlife sightings. Take a photo. Fill out the form. Then we have a better idea of habitats to protect
Last week we deployed #NationalHedgehogMonitoringProgramme cameras across Chiswick with @wildchiswick!
Many thanks to Chiswick House & volunteers! We saw lots of hog-friendly initiatives such as highways & habitat creation 🦔

Happy Hogiversary @chloe_hartland! 🥳Thank you for all the hard work over the last 3 years! This year Chloe has been a 🌟and created our very own Zooniverse project (tinyurl.com/46fj3sun) allowing us to engage more people in our conservation projects. 🦔🦊
How Clean Is Your House? Queens Wood camera collection edition!
Our 1st camera collection of the year was a success & as always, lots of insects made our camera traps their home.
Thanks to Friends of Queens Wood & volunteers who helped! Time to see what the cams collected👀
While half the team were living it up at @glastonbury this weekend the animals were having their own party! 🦊 🎊 🥳 #GlastonburyFestival @officialzsl
