💰 A lower tax rate. A balanced budget. Staff retention payments. More than $23 million in construction savings. That is what responsible stewardship looks like in Longview ISD: longviewisd.com/article/3093… @LongviewISD earned a 98 out of 100 and an A, or Superior Achievement, on School FIRST, the state’s financial report card for public schools. The Longview ISD Board of Trustees also adopted a balanced $152.2 million budget that: 🟢Lowers the total tax rate by 1 cent. 🟢Provides one-time retention payments for eligible returning employees. 🟢Pays down bond debt early to reduce interest costs. 🟢Continues major bond projects at more than $23 million below early construction estimates. Finance staff estimates the average homeowner will see a decrease of about $93.46. Strong schools require strong financial decisions, and every dollar should work toward what matters most: our students, employees and community.
