Issues with my home car charger. Mrs H finds a chat bot, it sorts it in under 5 minutes. #impressed

Wife had a GP appointment today, rescheduled twice so weeks overdue. Prescription issued. I went to collect it, apparently the drug hasn’t been available for months.. Late in the day, appt delayed by 45 minutes, so it’s another call and another visit tomorrow no doubt. 🙄

Stock up on essential supplies we are told. At least three days worth of water and tinned food. "At least three days"? What about prescriptions? Why is the government not telling doctors to issue prescriptions for 56 days worth of drugs to be topped up every 28 days?

Just like to say again that the fact we're still doing this crazy putting the clocks back thing is incredibly annoying and pointless. Make British Summer Time just British Time and let us all move on with our lives.

Not sure whether this is an AI story but it’s a good one for anyone who thinks that their job is really important and they are irreplaceable.
Three months before I retired, my manager asked whether I could leave sooner. I’d worked there for twenty-nine years. I started when the warehouse had no heating. By the time I left, machines did most of the lifting, and I trained the people who kept them running. Over the years, I’d missed birthdays, changed vacations, and answered calls halfway through Sunday dinner. The morning my wife went into labor, I worked half a shift before going to the hospital. I used to tell that story proudly. When I gave notice, I expected the last few months to feel strange. They did. I was still called over whenever something stopped working, but I no longer received invitations to the meetings about it. My replacement asked questions. I answered them, then wrote the answers down so he wouldn’t have to remember everything at once. One afternoon, I heard my manager telling him that my retirement would finally take a big expense off the department’s budget. I stayed late that evening finishing the troubleshooting notes. The young man hadn’t done anything wrong. I didn’t want him stuck on his own. Last Friday was my final day. HR sent a checklist: access card, locker key, company jacket. By the time I’d returned everything, my manager had already left. There was no gathering. A few people said, “Enjoy yourself,” as I passed. In the break room, I took my old mug from the cupboard. A new employee looked up. “You’re not supposed to take things from here.”

Who? The surprise here was a suspended sentence.. because it was under 12 months. So no one sentenced to under 12 months is jailed? Due to overcrowding? This isn’t justice, it’s a rap on the knuckles (see what I did there?)bbc.co.uk/news/live/c615j0e8…

I think there's something missing from the list of essentials we Brits would need to stockpile in an emergency You must get enough tea bags and longlife milk!! We can put up with a lot but if we can't have a cuppa there'll be anarchy #Stockpile

Delighted that Minister @LabourSJ came to Newcastle-under-Lyme to launch these new powers. Zero tolerance of nonsense activities and anti-social behaviour must mean exactly that!

A PSPO is already in place in Newcastle town centre. The police have powers and need to enforce it more robustly. We’ve also just approved renewing and strengthening the PSPO for our parks and open spaces, including Lyme Valley. I’ve been very clear: zero tolerance on anti-social behaviour. That’s why illegal encampments have been shut down quickly and we’re purchasing new CCTV to tackle ASB and fly-tipping. I’ve also told Newcastle BID I’m happy for them to organise a meeting with local businesses so I can hear directly about their concerns. Residents should feel safe in our town centre and parks, and businesses should be able to trade without intimidation.

Kto to homologował i dopuścił do sprzedaży? 1/2

This puts streaming service costs into stark perspective.
How did going to a UK cinema turn into a major financial investment? You buy one adult ticket for £14.50 A large popcorn is £7.50 A medium soft drink is £5.50 That’s £27.50 for one person to sit in the dark and watch 25 minutes of adverts before the film even starts. You can get two whole months of streaming services for the price of one bucket of salty popcorn.

So, a £5bn co2 pipeline from Derbyshire through Cheshire to the sea is planned. Surely one for water to the South would be more beneficial? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crk6…

Welcome news @AJogee @GullisJonathan Most of my family now avoid NUL town centre because of ASB. Seems incredible that no powers existed for police to stop this previously. Extend this crackdown to the Lyme Valley please. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c620…

Worth knowing: if there’s a power cut in your area, your solar panels and home battery will usually stop supplying electricity, even if the sun is shining and your battery is charged. You need a system specifically designed with backup capability to keep your home powered.
