Where's the cargo deck ?! lol
To put it another way: I want to adopt solar to help combat climate change - but without sacrificing human rights, but my ability to do so seems very limited. Help needed.

So that's great - totally support the idea, but how to put it in practice? How to adopt solar in NZ *and* support human rights? Anything in the pipeline to help?

Hey @JulieAnneGenter @NZGreens - adopting solar is good, but the vast majority of panels in NZ come from sources that are most likely tied to Uyghur abuse. What's your view?

If these are like the ones that used to be on the corner heading up Bowen, from Lambton Q to The Terrace... they'll probably last about 5 mins.

Trains would be an obvious solution in my opinion. Also, I think there will always be a place for cars - but that place is smaller than most people think, and they don't all need to be privately owned.

I totally agree. I think all we're saying is that they are very suitable for lots of scenarios, which makes them a viable option for consideration, and worth adding to the mix.
Only if the cycle courier doesn't have a rain coat :)

There's always going to be outliers. Mine is rated for 180Kgs (incl the rider), so they are capable of taking some serious loads, and that's not factoring in trailers.

You might be pleasantly surprised. Yep, they aren't for everyone, but for me the general handling is fantastic, and if anything they feel more stable.

Probably for a number of reasons: cost, legacy thinking, etc. I own an electric cargobike and can assure you they are awesome - if there's any questions about up-take I can assure you how good they are is definitely not the issue.

Don't worry - it was only mock outrage :)

OMG, don't show that in public with my name attached! FYI this was "composited" in PowerPoint, and "polished" in MS Paint.

What is this, "dump on an MP day"? FYI, you can get heaps on a bike if you have the right bike.
I totally concur. I mean, I'm not a "professional" courier, but it's pretty easy for me to see why (the article) is the case.
