There's this particular guy who has been admiring me and would probably love for us to have something together. But one of the reasons I find it difficult to even consider him is that he bears the same name as someone who sexually molested me when I was a child.
I know this man is not the person who hurt me, and it's not his fault that he bears that name. But I genuinely struggle with hearing or even associating with that name because of what it reminds me of. It brings back memories I would rather not have.
The funny thing is, I cannot even bring myself to tell him the real reason I can't see myself having anything to do with him.
Does this make me unreasonable? Am I being unfair to someone who hasn't personally done anything wrong?
