I think measuring our success by other people’s results and goals has made our generation miserable, depressed and bitter. I genuinely feel bad for us
We’ve lost the ability to define success for ourselves. Social media has changed our relationship with success.

We really are poor people, and it’s not even about money We are poor in conscience. Poor in morals. Poor in honor. The country cannot change if the masses don’t change. Period!

Many northern Sunnis in Nigeria share these extremist views and the moderates who don’t, the fear of social sanction, specifically accusations of being munāfiq, keeps them in cowardly silence. It’s why they would just rather say “this is not Islam” than condemn evil.

For one full year we argued on this street that there is no Christian genocide in Northern Nigeria. Within a single day, a young man released a video of paramilitary-style training where young Muslims were being groomed to chant “Mass Genocide” against Christians in the Southeast. That same week, Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Masussuka, one of the few scholars who consistently preached against insurgency, was assassinated. Months earlier, Ibrahim Danshagamu publicly begged the Kano government to protect him after members of the Izala movement allegedly threatened his life. That same week, he was killed in his bedroom. Today, some elders of the Izala movement stand with a young man being trained to hate his fellow human beings. On this same street, members of the same movement celebrated the assassination of Sheikh Masussuka. If the Federal Government does not immediately proscribe the Izala movement, arrest clerics promoting extremism in Northern Nigeria, and release Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasir Kabara to continue deradicalisation work, this country is heading for disaster. We will one day wake up to a fully formed Al-Qaeda-style network in Nigeria. At that point, even Somalia will look safer than Northern Nigeria.

It’s crazy. I used to scoff at my mom for piling up nylons. Guess who does it now? 😂😂😂😭
Genetics is humbling, but what’s even worse is catching yourself doing the very same things your parents did that you swore you’d never do. 😮‍💨

The electorate aren’t goldfish. Our memories are long enough to recall June 2024, when you declared that trans-identified men with penises should be able to use women’s public bathrooms. It took a Supreme Court ruling to force you to uphold women’s rights, and now you pose as our bold champion? Please.
The time for talk has long passed. This government is putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to supporting women and girls. We'll back practical action to confine misogyny to the history books - in public services, workplaces, and online. theguardian.com/society/2026…

All it takes is for one extremist to come into power in the SW and we are finished. Till today Yerima altered and birthed mordern day extremism and sharia in Nigeria. 1 man. Lets keep treating extremism with kid gloves.

& this is why it’s important to teach young women that they have enough time in the world to find a man and create a family.

I’m emotional this morning bc I remember how LGHM started. What it looked like in the beginning, the work that has gone into getting here and the vision I’ve carried in my heart all this time

Now I’m seeing tangible evidence of that vision taking shape. Like we’re only 3 years in yet I’m already seeing glimpses of a 10 year dream
