“The canons of narrative in any medium cannot be wholly different; and the failure of poor films is often precisely in exaggeration, and in the intrusion of unwarranted matter owing to not perceiving where the core of the original lies.” - J.R.R. Tolkien

Watching the soul of "The Nerd of the Rings" die in real time was truly an amazing experience.
How to kill any good faith in your convention with three easy steps:
1. Invite streamer as a guest.
2. Get a ton of the streamer's fans to buy tickets to meet the creator.
3. Cancel the streamer's appearance last minute, screwing over her and her fans while citing "sponsor concerns" as the reason when it was really just a bunch of far-leftist freaks crying and likely making threats because they hate the streamer for *checks notes* having opinions they don't agree with.
"In fact I dislike Dune with some intensity, and in that unfortunate case, it is much the best and fairest to another author to keep silent and refuse to comment."
-J.R.R. Tolkien
Denis Villeneuve deserves that "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" treatment for Dune.
He shouldn't just get nominated for Best Director for Dune: Part Three; he needs to win.
Look at Peter Jackson. The Academy swept The Return of the King as a collective reward for the entire trilogy's monumental achievement.
When Dune: Part Three drops, the Academy needs to break its sci-fi bias and correct a major historical oversight. Give the man his Oscar.
I'm a firm believer that the only way to adequately adapt Middle-earth is through artwork. Be it traditional art, Ai, cosplay and so on, so long as the world is being accurately represented, the artists can come up with whatever is in their imagination. Call it an aesthetic interpretation of canon events.
It's one of the big reasons I try to encourage people on here to immerse themselves in the world of Arda so vehemently. I have a lot of artists who I follow and who follow me who I would love to see come up with their own interpretation of what Arda and the characters therein would look like, as well as what different events would look like.
If we only ever got Tolkien artwork, I'd be fine with that. Be a hell of a lot better than some garbage tv show or a movie written by a failed late-night host.

If you could delete Rings of Power forever, but you had to delete the Peter Jackson LotR trilogy to do it, would you?
I know my answer.

What they should've done is something small to earn the trust of Tolkien fans. With the rights they have, they could've done a couple of seasons with the following stories, spent a lot less money, and wouldn't have the convenient excuse of "we don't have all the rights":
*Balin's failed expedition to Moria. You get a bit of adventure, horror, and tragedy.
*The Kin-strife. Political machinations and battles. It's a nice bit of Gondor's history that isn't well known to the more casual fans.
*The story of Eorl and the founding of Rohan. A bit of adventure, a pretty big battle, and a happy ending.
These are just a few examples.
So, if Galadriel was written accurately, and for some reason a television show wanted to show her encountering a single Ringwraith (never happened in the books btw) then what you would see is a scene where the Ringwraith would run away because of Galadriel's sheer power.
Here's Gandalf explaining how all nine Ringwraiths reacted when they saw Glorfindel, an Elf-lord comparable in power to Galadriel:
“Caught between fire and water, and seeing an Elf-lord revealed in his wrath, they were dismayed, and their horses were stricken with madness.” The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring, Chapter 13- Many Meetings
Instead, we get Morfydd's ugly grimace while she tries to girlboss with her sword, in a fight that never took place ever in the source material.
GM everyone!
Hope you all have a lovely day. Gotta spend the first half of the day working and then planning my first video upload in a while.

Oh, would you look at that, Amazon screwed up the lore again.
The Númenóreans didn't refer to Sauron as a god until right before Númenor was drowned in the sea.
"Now the lightnings increased and slew men upon the hills, and in the fields, and in the streets of the city; and a fiery bolt smote the dome of the Temple and shore it asunder, and it was wreathed in flame. But the Temple itself was unshaken, and Sauron stood there upon the pinnacle and defied the lightning and was unharmed; and in that hour men called him a god and did all that he would." - The Silmarillion, Chapter 25 - Akallabêth
Prior to Sauron coming to Númenor, the Númenóreans only regarded him as an enemy.
"For the Men of Brethil had waylaid at the Crossing of Teiglin the Orc-host that led the captives of Nargothrond, hoping to rescue them; but the orcs had at once cruelly slain their prisoners, and Finduilas (Galadriel's niece) they pinned to a tree with a spear."
-The Silmarillion
Galadriel, nor any elf for that matter would ever ally themselves with an orc.
Good morning! I hope all of you have a fantastic day today! I'm off to do my 12-hour shift. Here's some art from my favorite Tolkien artist Yidan:
It is fundamentally good for gaming and gamers that these ideologically captured studios close down. The people celebrating these shutdowns are well within their right to do so, given how activists have taken over the games industry and used it to push political messaging instead of just making good games.
If the clowns from BioWare and other shut down or struggling AAA studios want to blame anyone for their current issues, all they need to do is look in a mirror.
Rings of Slop fans crying, weeping, tearing their hair out in my replies.
Listen up: They put this Galadriel/Sauron nonsense in here specifically for the degenerate, disgusting shipping communities.
Not only does it go completely against canon (much like the rest of this trash show), not only is it a spit in the face of Tolkien and the character of Galadriel, but it is also meant to cater to a group of individuals who write some of the most depraved, extreme sexual things you will find online.
That is why us Tolkien fans find this garbage to be so unbelievably abhorrent.
They want to be Game of Thrones so bad lol
Let's just evaluate how retarded this looks. You have Sauron, sitting on a throne made of clearly oversized elf helmets. The prosthetic ear on the actor is messed up. The armor looks like trash.
They can't do one thing right lmao
Amazon has zero original ideas.
Also, fell beasts didn't become a part of Sauron's arsenal until the 3rd age.
So....
They're gonna have Durin bowing down to Sauron.
Again, never happened in the books. Durin's Folk were some of the most steadfast allies during the War of the Elves and Sauron.
"He (Elrond) would indeed have been overwhelmed had not Sauron's host been attacked in the rear; for Durin sent out a force of Dwarves from Khazad-dum, and with them came Elves of Lorinland led by Amroth."
"...but the Gates of Moria were shut, and he (Sauron) could not enter. Ever afterwards Moria had Sauron's hate, and all Orcs were commanded to harry Dwarves whenever they might."
-Unfinished Tales, The History of Celeborn and Galadriel
Ya know, my followers will sometimes make funny jokes about Rings of Power....
And then Amazon will show us something so incredibly stupid that the jokes actually become valid.....

In case you're in any way confused:
No, this didn't happen in the books. This show is maintaining 0% canonical accuracy. Matter of fact, we are in the negatives at this point.
They've decided that Galadriel and Sauron should sleep together.
Words cannot describe how hilarious yet incredibly infuriating this show is.
