The case has been adjourned to 9th Nov. the judge has given the state 2 weeks to conclude investigations about the whereabouts of Sam Mugumya and file a report before the 9th.
The state doesn’t need to conduct any investigations. It has Mugumya and they know where they are holding him, we have seen videos, witnesses have seen him, the CDF has admitted having him. What more are we looking for?
After appeals to the Principal Judge for reallocation, Sam Mugumya’s second bail application was moved from 17th Nov to today albeit before the same Judge, Kinobe. The state has already responded again, without any shame, denying having him in his custody or knowing his whereabout as the police officers illegally detaining and threatening @AloikinOpoloje told her! #FreeSamMugumya #JusticeForSamMugumya

As a child, you think adulthood means freedom. Then you grow up and discover that freedom requires money, money requires work, work requires time, and time is the one thing you never seem to have enough of.

Abducted three years ago and later taken to prison, Comrade Angulibo from Yumbe District, West Nile, has never appeared in court. He remains detained at Kigo Prison despite no known criminal charges. Why is he still being held?

Imagine having the entire security apparatus at your disposal and still being terrified of unarmed citizens. Power without public trust is just fear wearing a uniform.

A government that fears its own citizens has already admitted where the real power lies. Repression may silence people for a season but it cannot turn public anger into public trust.

Omuzungu yatuletera “alleged”! Even things people are seeing with their eyes they will say “alleged” and think that will make them safe from those unleashing the reign of terror!
Leader of the Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi has urged NRM members and government officials not to label senior party members, including Older Persons MP for Eastern Uganda, Ofwono Opondo, as disloyal for speaking out on alleged abductions in the country.
Ssenyonyi called for open discussion of public concerns, saying leaders should be free to raise issues of national interest without their loyalty being questioned.

On the floor of Parliament this afternoon, Ofwono Opondo, the MP for Older Persons (Eastern Uganda), raised the issue of continued arbitrary arrests, abductions and torture of citizens by security forces.
He specifically cited the abduction of Praise Aloikin Opoloje about three weeks ago.
He wondered whether this was a new law for the NRM.

Thank you OO. The same thugs are still following @AloikinOpoloje with death threats. We all need to fight for peace and justice in our country where every Ugandan feels safe🙏🏽
🇺🇬 VIDEO:
Older Persons Representative (Eastern) Ofwono Opondo, an NRM MP, asked whether it is now “the new law of the NRM” to lure a suspect to a police station for the military to arrest. He was citing activist Praise @AloikinOpoloje account that people who said they were from CMI took her and beat her in a van.
He asked Parliament to demand an explanation from the Minister of Defence, the Attorney General and the Minister of Internal Affairs.

"Two weeks ago, a young woman called Aloikin Praise was lured into a @PoliceUg station and subsequently arrested. As soon as she was there, some people came and identified themselves as coming from CMI.
Is this now the way to apprehend suspects? Lure them into a police station and the military come and arrest you?"~Ofwono Opondo, MP for older persons (Eastern region) on the continued abduction and torture of citizens by security operatives.

I am really glad that despite our political differences, this one time memebers of @NUP_Ug and @NRMOnline agree with civil society that abduction is wrong and should end! I also agree with them that the officers that participated in this must be held accountable! This is just not a conversation pushed on the floor of parliament by @JoelSsenyonyi and opposition.
The photo attached is of the police officer that introduced himself as part of CMI. @OfwonoOpondo here is the man if you really want him to be held accountable.
Uganda belongs to all Ugandans!

This interview of @AloikinOpoloje has rubbed the sycophants the wrong way. Apparently they did her a favor and released her thinking she will be remorseful. Now the threats are in high gear. I am featured in those threats so many times as the person influencing her. And they add that those influencing us like @kizzabesigye1 and @HEBobiwine already became rich or some nonsense like that. As if Praise has no agency of her own, has no eyes to see the gross human rights violations that she is calling out, as if, like them, she has no brain to tell right from wrong! We will name names soon. youtu.be/M26250Fw46E
