I have a dark Christmas #poem about remembering those who are gone up at @Spill_Words
Always an honour to be part of such a wonderful publication 🙂

“Theft”
Death stumbles in the dark,
where goodnights stolen
by unspoken worries about managers and supervisors,
who don’t remember our names,
causing me to forget
to lock the front door,
only to hope a cat burglar
takes enough
that we’ll have something
worth talking about.
Not for reading if at the moment you're feeling fragile, but otherwise: a must-read for everyone.
Yet again I can't thank you enough for the many kind comments I have received about this article @macleans , which seems to have resonated with so many people. Little known secret, I am actually quite a shy and private person and the attention received has frankly overwhelmed me
I have lost track of @RipNTearRon 's book. Ron, didn't you write a book? I want to buy one.

From @deonandan, an epidemiologist, whose Twitter is private but who asks that this be shared. I BEG YOU TO RETWEET, far and wide. But these folks especially need to see it. @fordnation @SylviaJonesMPP @PublicHealthON @SMDhealthunit

I nominate the amazing @GretaThunberg to investigate change-influence. Clearly, a cogent expertise analysis of valid data is "necessary but (grossly) insufficient" to effect change. What do experts know about change-influence at scale? Who are they? Have we missed their voices?

I'm getting back to but cannot find @LedueRichard's earlier tweet about 5 poems in @thealienbuddha. I might have titled it Small Victories (my inner optimist). I didn't understand the moral of the tip jar, and rather suspect that the author designed it that way! I.e. I like it.

Fall has settled in on the River. Bright colors speckle the islands as trees start to turn. Water levels are low. More mornings have "sea smoke" as the air temps cool. Don't miss our October issue, with thirteen new articles: thousandislandslife.com

“It’s Easier to Shrug”
Black and white photos
and names scribbled on the back
in dead cursive writing
eventually become parts of a riddle,
until silence gives
an answer we don’t want to hear.
