ALT Colorful light from a glowing cloud with a ring-like shape. The Ring Nebula is a large, semi-transparent circle with several layers around it that appear like a misshapen football slightly angled from top left to bottom right. A tiny white star appears at the center. A large transparent teal oval surrounds the central star. Several orange shells surround the teal oval, extending almost to the edges of the image. The shells become a deeper orange with distance from the center. The background of the image is black and speckled with tiny stars.
