It's so hot (79F) in the office today that I opened my windows. One result of which is when the wind blows, it blows open the vertical blinds, exposing me to a potential assassination attempt. From the street, you'd have a great head shot at me.
And don't think there aren't people out there who would do it. Former bosses, coworkers, my 4 ex-wives. Plus, there's this remote village in the mountains of Haiti where all the kids look like me. Look, I usually use protection. But I thought, when's the next time I'm going to Haiti?
We were talking with the Master regarding the nature of conceptual reality. Psychologically speaking, the human mind or brain or whatever, is almost incapable of distinguishing between the real and the vividly imagined experience. Sound and film and music and radio. Even these manipulative experiences are received more or less directly and uninterpreted by the mind. They are cataloged and recorded and either acted upon directly, or stored in the memory, or both. Now this process, unless we pay it tremendous attention, begins to separate us from the reality of the now. Am I being clear? For we must allow the reality of the now to just happen, as it happens. Observe and act with clarity. For where there is clarity, there is no choice. And where there is choice, there is misery. But then, why should I speak, since I know nothing?
Winfield Scott retweeted
Archie: I think that if God had meant us to be together, he would've put us together. Look what he done, he put you over in Africa and put the rest of us in all the white countries.
Sammy: Well you must of told him where we were because somebody came and got us.
If only my friend, @ghobubo liked cats, this video might cheer him up. :::sigh:::
Wook at the swimming kitties!!
I'm losing count with Eagles QBs this year.
This coming weekend, they'll be either on their 3rd or 4th quarterback. More quarterbacks than they have wins.
#whenfeelingstressed I think of the two coolest cars ever: The 1966 Corvette and the 2019 Corvette.
Wook at the baby kitty!
"I will never understand how the majority of Jewish Americans vote Democrat."
...or...
How blue collar union men & women voted for Reagan. Twice.
...or...
How ANYONE could have voted for a second term of Bush Jr. or Obama.
People often vote clearly against their own group's interests. Jewish Americans are pretty much the top of the heap for this sort of thing. But it's not JUST them. (Which is my point.)
When you vote for someone who wants you dead, don't come crying to the rest of us when the knife is at your throat.
My trip to the bloodwork lab today...
I get there. Two ladies ahead of me. I'm still on my feet cuz I literally just got there. The lab tech puts out the sign-in sheet. I get to the list first. I sign in in the 3rd slot, permitting the ladies to - rightfully - claim the first two slots. Both ladies were very thankful and seemed surprised. One called me "a gentleman and a scholar." I replied, "Well, I try." When they were done, one of them thanked me again.
Now, I didn't do it because of their sex. If it were two guys, I would've done everything exactly the same. And, if it were two guys, I probably wouldn't have been thanked. But I don't do things like this to get thanked. I do it because it's how I was raised, or how I raised myself. Treat others like I'd want to be treated. Do the right thing.
Anyway, nice way to start the day.
